I need some recipe ideas. We love to grill out but since we became vegetarians earlier this year, I can't figure out what I can cook on the grill. So can you help a girl out? We do eat fish, so I would love some good recipes with fish or yummy veggies. Here is our go to meal, totally satisfies the burger cravings oddly enough... Grilled Portobello Burgers Ingredients: • 4 Portobello Mushroom caps - snap off the stems and wipe down well with a paper towel, scrape off the gills too. • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns • 1/4 cup Fat Free Italian Dressing • 1 small jar of roasted red peppers, drained and cut into strips or a fresh tomato • 4 slices cheese • Cooking Spray Directions: 1. Coat grill with cooking spray and heat to about medium high. 2. Brush both sides of each mushroom cap with the Italian dressing, and place on grill. Cover loosely with foil (or close the lid) and cook about 3-4 minutes. 3. While those are going… brush the insides of your whole wheat buns with the rest of the dressing, place dressing side down on the grill to toast. 4. Flip your “burgers”, and grill on the other side for 3-4 minutes. You’ll be able to tell when they are done as they shrink a bit and smell REALLY good. 5. Top each mushroom cap with a slice of the cheese, and grill for about one more minute until the cheese melts. 6. Assemble your masterpiece, bun, cheesy cap, sliced red pepper strips, and bun. This is SO good.
well i dont know how to grill..... really. my dad tried to show me. it's a bad idea.. I also have no amazing suggestions.. but i just wanted to comment anyway cause im a vegan.. ^_^ my uncle grilled me up a marinated port. mushroom 4th of july and it was lovely.
YOU HAVE TO GRILL PINEAPPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!! cut the pineapple in large wedges. melt 1/4 cup of butter (i usually do more), let cool. pour pineapple wedges and butter in large ziplock baggie add 1/2 cup brown sugar (i usually do MORE of this too! LOL) just slosh all that yummy goodness around. real good. i even let it sit on the counter while i'm preparing everything else and grilling meat. flipping it every few minutes. then place on low flames and flip every 3-4 minutes. DELISH!
a staple at our dinner table is italian grilled veggies. VERY easy. chop fresh veggies, and then toss them wil olive oil and italian dressing seasoning (Good Seasons makes a delicious seasoning pack that makes perfect veggies... and dressing for that matter). Then grill them in a grill basket until they're the tenderness you like. YUM! We use just about any fresh veggie that we have on hand... broccoli, bell peppers, sweet onions, squash, zuccini (sp?), fresh mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, etc...
A great way to do corn on the cob on the grill.... wrap the corn in foil with butter and one or two ice cubes. it takes about 45 minutes to fully cook the corn. it's very tastey though!
I don't know how to grill either. But I got a cast iron grill pan for stove top and I like it, although it can be challenging to clean. I keep telling my kids that I'm going to pass it down to one of them but they don't seem to care. Also got a panini press to go with it. You can grill tofu. RECIPE
i was actually looking @ one of those at our lil local thrift store but i couldn't decide if i wanted it or not. plus, obviously it was wicked heavy and im a weenie.. so i let that decide for me. LOL .. but its nice eh? maybe i'll have to go back and see if they have it any more.. or you know, buy a new one
We love to barbecue sliced vegies and lamb chops, yummo, infact we had them for dinner tonight. Another barbecue favorite is satay chicken skewers, I have a great satay sauce recipe. or Indian, we do naan bread on the barbecue and use a bottled butter chicken sauce.
