I just saw your post as I was posting mine. I had to laugh out loud! I can say the SAME thing about my son's. He's 19.
Well done! I love how colorful it is. Much more colorful than the x-stitch project I'm trying to finish!
I don't know where I am going to hang it. Rapunzel IS her favorite princess though! I have completed another pattern in this same style that is of The Little Mermaid and this artist has at least 8 other princess patterns in this style too. One day I would love to make them all and make a huge gallery wall of them... but who knows if that will actually ever happen since they are so big and take so long.
I use three strands of string when I stitch. Cross stitch thread comes as six strings that you separate prior to stitching. A lot of people use two strands, but I like it to look more full so I use three.
This is stunning!! I know how long this takes as a fellow cross stitcher... and the size is crazy large! The etsy store is currently closed - hope she opens again soon!
I have another question! I looked at her patterns and they are amazing! Do the patterns use DMC floss?
Simply stunning! How you do that fine detail work in a moving car is beyond comprehension to me though.
I use to cross stitch but find that my eyes have hit the point where I can't see it as well and actually gives me a headache to try it. I always used 2 pieces of thread; never heard of using 3.
I just prefer the look of three strands on Aida cloth. If I stitch on linen or evenweave, I only use two strands.
Oh WOW! I love the colors and the pattern! How fun! I used to do a lot of cross stitch myself, so I know this took some serious time to finish! Now the fun part... getting it framed and hung up in your house!
