I'm so sorry I missed this! Your page is wonderful! I spent my 40th bday geeking out at Wizarding World in Hollywood. I'm sure it was even more magical for you on such a special day. Thanks so much for playing along!
My journaling: I've never been like big parties to celebrate my birthdays; as a child my mother (like all mothers) organized the classic parties where to invite other children of friends (who saw practically and punctually only at the birthday, and that's it!), relatives and favorite friends when I started going to school, parties that I loved, let's be clear, because it meant gifts, yeah! stuffed sandwiches and chips! and leftovers consumed at the party ended with a nice glass of milk in front of the TV before going to bed (and I did not have to worry that it was a weekday or not, because being born at the end of June, it was always holiday). Then the parties are over, but until the age of eighteen I kept a tradition that I started around ten, eleven years: invite my best friends to lunch (Jana and Patrizia up to elementary school, plus Simona in three middle schools). Here: this cup and I will celebrate our thirty-second anniversary this year! In fact I received it as a gift for my thirteenth birthday, and I am very dear to the memories that evokes in me: carefree years and friendships, those that arise as a child and that you believe will last forever, and that sometimes is that's right! This cup was given to me by Jana, and it was love at first sight !! The first thing that struck me at the time, even before opening the gift, was the greatness, it is just a beautiful, and adding the plate was a nice package! But then, opening it .... love! That beautiful rose in the middle, shiny and shining! And the blue was a perfect match! Just imagine how many liters of milk and tea have filled it and emptied it, and how many moments of consolation, refreshment and comfort those liters of hot or cold drinks that they have given me, simply holding it in their hands! At the beginning I used it without hesitation, without granting free days, holidays or paid vacations! Thinking: 'Here is my new wonderful cup, I will use that' or: 'It's still like new the cup that Jana gave me three years ago', but then two removals and a bit 'of dishes, glasses, cups and broken cups they took the upper hand and the simple gesture of grabbing the cup for the umpteenth breakfast was replaced by that of putting it more and more deep into the cupboard, until it was completely hidden, for fear that it would break. Now, if you knew me, you would know that there are two things I love to collect: pigs and cups (if 'details' even better): here, I do not remember if my passion for cups started exactly then, but I know that this will always be special, it will be THE cup, and yes, I really wanted a nice cup of tea (ps: Sorry for the errors, english is not my native language, and I used Google translator; I'm in a hurry with these challenges because I'm sooo behind :/ Thank you)
Text below. Image is linked These tiny treasures bring joy to our home. The first ornaments came from the Woolworth’s store just off Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas in 1973. The delicate glass baubles haven’t made it onto the tree in many years because boys and fragile glass just don’t go together. At $1.00 a dozen, they were pricey for my small budget, but they are beautiful still. When the Army transferred me overseas new ornaments would jump into my hands screaming “Take me home!” From England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, and Czechoslovakia, ornaments just always seemed to hitch a ride in my suitcase. They would giggle, some of them jiggle, and all of them vied for first place in my affections. But each is so unique and wonderful, it was impossible to choose! Every year, 1-3 dozen new lovelies would find themselves hanging on the tree then tucked away snug and safe until the next year. Winnie the Pooh bounced into our lives and onto the tree in 1996 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Handmade by a dear friend to finance her grandson’s study abroad trip, Pooh – all 6 of him - was a perfect match. Whenever Justin was frightened in the night, Pooh Bear would sing softly to him until the shadows were no longer scary and he could sleep. Justin is now 25 but greets his old friend with joy and hangs him gently on the tree. His baby brother, Jason, hangs his own Pooh, as well, and we sing. Angels, Santas, dolls, cabins, violins, saxophones, sleighs, you name it, it’s likely there with nearly a thousand ornaments, not counting the Santa collection, creches, and other decorations. There are also little boy crafted ornaments, teacups and saucers, strings of beads, and thousands of lights. Soon, it will be time for them to hop into new crates as they are divided up to go to new homes as the boys finish college, marry and move away. I will miss my tiny friends, but they will bring even greater joy as each son opens the box and tells his wife and his own children all the stories that go with each of those treasures and old family traditions will continue with some new ones added along the way.
great challenge! thanks! Translation: I am absolutely not a materialistic person: I don't collect any objects (apart books and scraps kits!). I have a little functionnal house and it's enough for me! Two old cars ...like my house, functionnals! my great happiness is to travel with family if possible as often is possible. I do not redeem object under the pretext that the last model has just been released, even if it's better , as long as my old model works. But there is an object that I love and that I wish quite recent if possible...it's my smartphone! I use it so much! for everything (not too much to call! lol). He serves me as a pedometer on a hike, of course like a camera (I bring less and less often my Reflex Nikon), during travel and for the everyday life, for filming, reading, talking with my daughters by textos, like a computer in travels to watch my favorite sites, organize excursions, to do yoga, listening music, etc the list is so long and not exhaustive!
text: We have talented cats. Dinah was our most talented and Peony next. Callie, you ask? Well, I don’t think Callie has yet blossomed in the area I’m about to speak of. The talent? Well. Sure, they catch us mice, voles, some birds, and the occasional bat too (which is also honestly impressive if I may add), but their biggest talent of all is their catching of squirrels. We’ve never witnessed the kill, but the aftermath has been seen at least two dozen times. And, before you gag, the aftermath doesn’t have to be gruesome. Sometimes we see the proud cat feasting away on their prey, but often we miss this part too. What we usually see, is the end product. A beautiful tail, laid by the door or near it, for the Momma Owner of the house, yours truly. Occasionally, there may be a paw or two as well. Now, the paws I’m not sentimental about. It’s the TAILS I love. And, I’ve become proud of my little meowing skillful hunters! So, I began hanging each tail with twine, onto my pinecone wreath. One by one, added over the years. Some visitors think it’s creepy, but most agree with my view of it being a unique and beautiful display of God’s creation. Sadly, I’ve lost a few in number – I don’t have all the two dozen stated above on display. This is either due to them falling apart because of a baby kitten’s playfulness before I could retrieve it from the doorstep, or owing to the tails being ripped off of their hanging strings by frisky jumping cats. Now, if I ever hear a continued THUMP Scratch THUMP against the door, I know what the trouble is, and I hurry over to shoo away the bored cat, so as to preserve my precious hanging tails. Then I quickly see if they’ve snatched one off, retie it if need be, and wind the string up a little higher, so it’s not so tempting next time around. My most esteemed favourites are two gorgeously soft tails, special and different from all the rest: Flying squirrel tails. And one is just a little stub of a tail, stumpy after being salvaged a few times from frisky felines. Yet I still treasure it. Oh, you’re still taken aback by my sentence prior? Well, yep, I had said that correctly: Flying squirrels. We apparently have those in our wonderful little Osborne Acres bush. And that is what confirms to me, without a doubt, my cats’ talents, and also brings me to tell of their ultimate forte; because if they can bring home tails like that, then that means they… can secretly fly too! Beat THAT, other cat owners!
Ironically, I came in at 152 words. I had more, but they wouldn't fit on the page, so I took them out so I didn't have to make my font too small. Journaling reads - One of the exciting parts that we did not know about in advance was the special shopping area. Inside the Art of Animation building, they set up an entire shopping area with merchandise exclusive to those of us that attended the opening. I wish that I would have taken more pictures. First, at waiting in line, they let us into the theater with the purchase sheet and we waited for our group to be called. When we got in the room - we wanted it ALL!! We went from section to section and bought t-shirts, a purse, lanyards, and of course - PINS -- lots and lots of pins! My absolute favorite was this pin that proclaimed that "I WAS THERE!" for opening day. It was a Limited Edition of only 2,000. I wore it proudly on my lanyard until the hinge started to wear out. Now it is safe at home.
