    I chose a star as my shape. This layout has too many to count 26+ as there are very tiny ones in the paint transfer under the photo spilling out. No I did not duotone this photo. It is straight out of the camera. We were at this restaurant with the pink lighting outside and a bare branch tree strung with white star/flower-like lights.

    Yes absolutely! The shapes don't have to be geometric.
