So it took me until yesterday but I got my Easter shopping done and I'm not sure if it was just leaving it this late, but it seemed like there was less variety this year.

What makes your Easter? Are you brand loyal? Are you all about chocolate or more into those marshmallow shapes I see online? Ever given anyone real orange carrots in a basket instead?! (I have been tempted to do this as both kids prefer them raw anyway; you should hear DD carry on when we have a casserole with carrot in it!)

Me, I'm more about Hot Cross Buns (I just discovered the Apple & Cinnamon ones - glad they won't be available much longer!) than rabbit or oval shaped chocolate but over the years, the kids have become picky (read: spoilt!) about brands and if it's not Cadbury or Lindt, we end up making 'reject easter chocolate chip cookies' after easter!)

Whoppers Robin Eggs, preferably the original size and not the mini size. I am not a fan of Whoppers Malt Balls, but their Robin Egg version is yum yum. I haven't bought any this year - not sure why. Maybe because I have stayed out of the candy aisle?

i prefer the kind that have like an M&M sort of shell too (if that's what a robin's egg is - the speckled pastel sort?) And good on your stores for limiting them to the candy aisle, they invade every aisle and free space here!

Honestly I’m all about the hot cross bun too @bellbird. my fave is a brioche hot cross bun that the local grocery store makes
one ofthe local morning radio teams here put a parody song & filmclip together the other day about HCB's (that's how they are written on the shopping list in our house!) trying to get some freebies out of local bakers! it's based on a Good Charlotte song, made me laugh, there's no bad language etc - it's on i98fm's website and facebook account if you want, under Marty, Christy & Crammy (not sure i can link it here but it's from about 20hours ago). Warning: it will get stuck in your head though!

Yeah nothing like the HOTCROSS bun! I’m with you on that one Jennifer...oh my gosh delish! I’m also a marshmallow girl so my family knows that they have to get me a bag of Snowballs I’d happily eat them all day :)

They are a malted milk chocolate with a hard shell.

oh gosh @bellbird Justine, it has to be the reeses peanut butter eggs... I love them but can't eat them!! Just looking at them I gain 5 pounds!!! Thank goodness we do not do easter baskets here. I would not survive!

I am not much of a candy eater at all, so I don't really have a favorite. I will pick at the Reese's Cups and maybe some peanut M&M's here and there, but the thing that makes Easter for me is deviled eggs :)

My kids and DH are the candy eaters! My daughter likes Lindt Lindor Truffles and the boys don't care as long as it's chocolate. Oh, and they all love Peeps...yuck!!! I usually get big bags with all the mixed small chocolates in them and split them between the baskets. The one thing I do like is dark chocolate which no one else will eat, so I get all of those rejects to myself :)

I am with @cfile - Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are the best! And their ratio of peanut butter to "chocolate"-stuff is much better than the normal peanut butter cups! We used to have a candy shop in our town who made homemade ones, and they were to die for! But that was way back in the 70s and I wonder if they are still even in business....

I used to love Cadbury chocolate eggs with the gooey stuff in the center. I got those every year from the time I was a teenager until last year. I've lost interest in them. And plus my lactose intolerance seems to be expanding to include milk chocolate. It's fine. Don't need it. :)

I love these little chocolate bunnies you get at the Dollar store. They are the best milk chocolate and I just love them.

Cadbury Creme Eggs
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs (IDK why but they taste so much better than a regular cup)

P.S. I hate Peeps and Jelly Beans...bleh!

I love chocolate and peanut butter stuff....but around Easter I really LOVE jellybeans. I haven't eaten a single one yet this year. I don't buy them (because I would eat them all!) so we'll see if my kids manage to get some somewhere this weekend. If not I may just not eat any this year!

I'm dying reading this thread. I NEED CHOCOLATE NOW!!

I love Cadbury Eggs, Reese Peanut Butter Eggs, and Robins Eggs/the kind with the M&M shell and chocolate center (I see a trend here...lol). Where's that Easter Bunny when you need him?

this is what we love in this house. those eggs are better than the regular reese's peanut butter cups. we may or may not have grabbed a few bags and already devoured them in this house!
