I guess, if you don't work on a desk, what's around you? I'm always curious into the little peeks into others lives.

On my desk: Computer and two monitors. Drawing Board and Pen. Eos lip balm. My cell phone. A bowl of popcorn that I was snacking on. My water bottle. My DSLR. My planner. A black coconut candle. Homework. A library cookbook I've yet to look at and I think is due this week? Headphones.

What about you? What is on your desk/around you?

I have my Epson printer beside my monitor. The keyboard is in a slide out shelf with my wacom presently sitting beside that as I was just doing some design work ( creating a template ). To my left on a pull out shelf is my notebooks and pens that I use to record what kits etc I use. My computer desk is an old fashioned computer cupboard which I find great as I can close it up and no one knows there is a computer inside. On top of this cupboard is a mess at the moment. I have my KNK Max machine that cuts out some of my shapes for hybrid projects. Then I have odd photo albums that I want to scan photos from. I have last years diary as I still have not finished last years P52 pages. then there is my toy tiger who looks after my normal glasses while I wear my computer glasses.

Your desk sounds awesome! Mine's an old kitchen table someone gave us.

My desktop computer takes up a lot of space , because the tower is also on the desk. ( no space for that on the floor because the desk has drawers ) headphones ,audio book case, 2disks from Photoshop magazines that I really mean to watch and follow the tutorials on,but they have been staring at me for months. Post it notes, pens, coffee mug,the cutest little print, with a childish drawing and text saying love is friendship that has caught fire. Must scrap that one day....

hold on - Eos lipbalm?! (i had to google that - never heard of that but my DSLR is an Eos 7D - Canon don't sell Rebels here so i'm not sure if they're the same in the US - so i was imagining lip balm for your DLSR!)

On my desk: current laptop and new laptop (not set up yet), mouse, mat, several EHDs, DSLR, pile of USB sticks, an old scrapped desk calendar i use as a perpetual calendar (but forget to change so it's still August!), a stack of notes (the 'pay this' pile), my ipod recharging, decorative candle on a decorative platter thing (Mothers day gift from kids a few years back), corded landline phone, some little multi-drawer units with all kinds of stuff like paper, glue & washi tapes in it, a caddie with Sharpies and my good scissors and pens and stuff. A coaster for the cup of coffee that's in here sometimes. - what's not on my desk now is the stack of artwork i got rid of recently (photographed them and scrapped some to clear some clutter)

I have a corner desk with one open space and then a smaller raised space on one side. On the main part, I have my laptop connected to a second monitor, my planner, washi tape, big EHD connected, 2 smaller EHD's, a chunk of marble that DH brought home from a job, a little foo dog statue that a friend gave me, sunglasses, phone, mouse and mouse pad, and coffee! The keyboard is on a slide out tray underneath. On the smaller raised part is a lamp, my jewelry holder, pencil jar, a small vase, and my ongoing list of supplies I'm using to prepare for DYD.

right now, it feels like everything is on my desk. We've even got the camping table up and covered. The children are making Christmas presents, there's my ongoing projects, and my hubby has seen fit to dump loads of stuff for me to attend to on top. The mess is stressing me out. I've got stuff to do, but have to have a clear up before I can start anything.

I'm at work.... a lot of stuff. Piles of papers for review - new orders, insurance listing, rail sketches to bill, and items to match to delivery tickets, plus a couple of contracts for price review/corrections, pencils, pens, tape calculator, 2 screens, keyboard, mouse, phone, stapler, tape dispenser, deposit lists and posting issues, Speakers, tea, phone, notepad, and some checks I just received this morning.

At home... it's my laptop on my lap, the lap "desk" and my mouse. Then next to me is usually a drink and my phone. :)

Currently:
Two monitors, speakers, pretty "hold it all" box, EHD that doesn't work lol, notepad and pen, phone, glass of water, fruit snacks and wrapper from my granola bar

Right in front of me is the 1 monitor and the keyboard. Under the monitor on the right are 4 Home Free CD's. Under the monitor on the left is an EXD with a bunch of pictures on top of it. A printout of TV channels is in the middle. To my left is a stack of notepads. To my right is the mousepad/mouse. Also on the right is a calculator, 3 Longaberger baskets (1 with notepads, 1 with miscellaneous small stuff, 1 with pens/pencils etc). Next to the mouse pad are several pens/pencils, more notepads and an OTT light. Other stuff includes a Dr Pepper, my cell phone, a Precious Moments "Friends Never Drift Apart" ornament, and a bottle of peppermint essential oil.

Just 15 minutes ago, I also had a dog on the desk (her front paws). I was watching Home Free videos and she likes to be on my lap watching them... apparently she has excellent taste in music. Her favorites these days is "Hillbilly Bones" and "Mayday".

I also have a shelf and an overhead cabinet on my desk but I won't go into detail on those!

I'm currently desk-less. I'm in the process of taking over a spare room to be my office, but we've had so much going on that it's been a slow transition. So for now, I work on my laptop on the couch... so here's what's around me...

1. the dog
2. my phone
3. two pairs of glasses... my new pair that I can't get used to and my old pair that I've been using as my "crutch" instead of forcing myself to adjust to the new pair
4. my mason jar I use as a water glass
5. my bullet journal
6. my planner (which I use as more of a diary for project life notes)
7. various EHDs
8. a granola bar wrapper (I just ate the bar for breakfast)
9. and finally, for some random reason, a pair of eclipse viewing glasses

I'm sitting here in my recliner in the family room. My MacBook Pro and mouse are sitting on my nifty lap desk. Next to me is an end table with a lamp filled with golf balls, (the whole room is a golf theme) a Kleenex box, a water bottle, 2 TV remotes, a pencil, my Burt's Bee's lip shimmer, and a nail file. Beside my chair is a basket filled with crayons, coloring books, 2 EHD's, a Vera Bradley bag containing my ear phones, SD cards, and extra camera batteries. Oops, I almost forgot - my cell phone and Kindle are on the table, too.

Ha! I should take a photo and ya'll will be amazed at how I could ever work at such a space.

My desk is a disaster zone. Computer, monitor, printer, scanner, lamp. Dead EHD, two mugs of pens/pencils, glasses cases, passports, old photos that need to be filed, two pairs of glasses, two Mickey Mouse watches in boxes, picture frames that need photos in them, old photo albums, tons of negatives that need to be scanned, catalogs, scissors & tape, post-it notes, travel journal, business cards, cds, notepads, plant identification stakes, US Park Service passports, file folders of photos to be sorted, diplomas, quilt squares(!), and one book: Essential Swedish Grammar. Throw in lots of dust and miscellaneous other things, you have my desk.

And yes, I work just fine this way!

the cutest little print, with a childish drawing and text saying love is friendship that has caught fire
That sounds adorable!

so i was imagining lip balm for your DLSR!
Lol! Nope. Just a brand. Most of our Rebels have an eos name too. Just to confuse everyone!

chunk of marble that DH brought home from a job,
Intriguing. Does this happen often? Or is the marble special?

right now, it feels like everything is on my desk.
I hate that! I hope you get to clear out everyone else's stuff soon.

my school books because I need to get started on today's workload!
I hear ya! Your desk sounds clean!

I'm at work.... a lot of stuff.
Sounds like a busy day for you!

EHD that doesn't work lol,
Um.... Should I ask? Are you hoping to repair it?

Just 15 minutes ago, I also had a dog on the desk (her front paws).
Aw! So cute!

my Burt's Bee's lip shimmer
My 2nd favorite lip balm!

Note: I just cleaned my desk for my birthday last week, so it's neater than usual. :D
I have a very nice 60" wide, 30" deep desk in the "breakfast nook" of my house. When I'm seated here, in front of my 2011 27" iMac, my kitchen is to my left, my family room is behind me, and on my right three east-facing windows overlooking my backyard. On sunny days in fall and winter, this nook is even sunnier than sunny spring and summer days, because more sunshine can get through the leafless trees of the woods behind my house. Right now, leaves are falling down like rain and I'm considering going outside to try photographing them against the blue sky.

As for the contents of my desk, I thought a photo would be easier. But in case the intent was to use words, I will also describe. :) From left to right, back to front (or top to bottom in the photo): You can see I have not removed my Bernie poster from my wall underneath a 2014 16x20" family portrait I made. Also on the wall is a collage frame containing photos mostly of my kids prior to 2011, the year we painted this walls yellow (official paint name: "manila tint") and I got the frame. It has three tiles in it that say, "Live Well," "Love Always," and "Laugh Often."
I have jars of pens at the back of my desk mostly for my family to use, and because there is a family calendar on the wall in the kitchen around the corner from my desk. That big colorful thing is a talking stick my daughter made in therapy, though we haven't needed to use it. The black lock box contains my daughter's meds, other meds, and some sharps. My lotion is right next to the pens, and something extremely important this half of the year, when my hands need frequent moisturizing. Then there's a box of tissues and my purse. Behind my computer are three EHDs and a lot of dust. (Achoo!) The 3Tb older drive contains stuff belonging to my family members. The newer 5Tb drive is mine and contains everything. I stopped saving anything on my internal drive to help my computer run faster. And there's a little drive that belongs to my husband. He keeps it plugged in to my computer so Backblaze will back it up. That obnoxious stack of papers at the back corner of my desk is entirely stuff from Kaiser. They send too much paper. We don't need separate letters that say the same thing sent to every member of our family. I need to weed it out and make a health insurance file folder. (We just switched a couple years ago, and our previous insurance paperwork did not come to our house but to my husband's work.)

You can see an open box that contained my new earbuds I got yesterday. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan is what I'm currently reading. My weekly desk calendar. My phone charger, and where my phone would by lying if I weren't holding it above my desk to make this photo, and my new wireless earbuds. Then there's my camera, a Canon Rebel T1i, some candy canes, my headphones, and the recipes I used for Thanksgiving. On the floor are some shoes I gave my daughter for her birthday but they're too small, so they're awaiting return to the store. I have a pull out keyboard tray. Notice I do not use a mouse but the awesome Magic Trackpad. The stool I'm standing on is not my usual chair. I just wanted to be higher up for the photo (my camera is against the ceiling!). I sit in a dining table chair with a green upholstered, padded seat. Oh! Almost forgot to mention the extra file cabinet to the right of my desk (there's also a file drawer in the left side of the desk and three small drawers on the right), with my dusty old Canon printer. I don't print a lot, and never print photos or scrapbook pages, so this printer is fine. It no longer communicates with my computer though, unfortunately. Fortunately, there's a slot for a thumb drive, so I can still use the scanner function, which I have found very useful for making digital copies of old prints and paper scrapbook pages and journals.

This reminds me of a layout I made recently: Desk Evolution :)

@bestcee - you asked for it, you got it!

Courtney, as you can see, it's a mess! The big box to the left contain paper albums in process (haven't been worked on in years!), the smaller ones contain documents from my parents and grandparents that need to be scanned. Drawings that need frames. An empty gluten-free cookie box that I need for reference for ordering. There are boxes of slides and negatives on the floor to the left that need scanning, as well, along with many others hidden on the desk. Notice the hot cocoa mug and the notebook where I can make lists of all the things I need to accomplish, and totally ignore. Ha!

The bookshelves to the right and in the corner holds all my creative memories paper scrapping supplies that I need to sell. Sigh. And there's the boxes of my DS's graduation announcements and last year's Christmas cards that never got sent... it's the story of my life. I need a clone of me, or an assistant, to get all the scanning done. At least.

And I know where everything is. Make me clean this up and I'll never find anything again.

Aren't you glad you wanted to see this????

I don’t have a traditional desk. Usually my computer time is sitting on the couch or in our school room while my daughter completes her independent school work each day. I have a giant oversized red bean bag and sit there and scrap. Regardless of where I am, I will have my water bottle, EHD, list of pictures to scrap in the album I am working on, and my pink highlighter.
