Any cross-stitchers/needlepointers out there...?

I am in awe.

Well, I totally want to start this hobby now!
All those examples are AMAZING in this thread. I've recently also seen other awesome patterns. But I don't cross stitch. So I've been kinda feeling like I should. It also very much feels like a winter hobby. And with winter coming....
Winter is coming!! Join us!!!

I agree strange this was posted since I was just thinking that I needed to pull out my "old project" and finish it. I started this project years ago for my son (when he was in high school 1999/2000) and finally finished it back around 2006/2007. I found the frame at an antique store that was absolutely the perfect size and coloring. After finishing I decided my son was not getting it and it hangs over my mantle. I know some people may have a problem with the confederate flag but to me it is a piece of my history since I am from the south and had family fight on both sides.

This is absolutely gorgeous Debbie!

I did cross stitch years ago. Actually shopping for supplies at a new to me craft store is where I discovered paper scrapbooking.
That was pretty much the end of my stitching days. I've tried more recently but my eyesight isn't so great any more.

That is gorgeous! I understand stitching in spurts. I just found a larger project I started a few years ago. I've competed 2 smaller projects and I feel like I could keep stitching if I do a little each week. It'll take me a LONG time to finish, but I'm ok with that for now! :)

I think counted cross stitch is one of my most favorite hobbies. I've made so many pieces over the years and given most of them away. My husband finally said something about it so I had to start making pieces for us! One of my favorite designers is Stoney Creek. They have very intricate patterns with really good coloring which means lots of color changes. You might have seven or eight or more greens in the leaves on a tree or the same amount of browns for the ground coloring or blues for an ocean picture. So they are really beautiful when you get them finished up. I'm really wanting to get back into it and am hoping I can see well enough to do so. :)

I LOVE to cross stitch! I am about 70% done with the Ariel pattern from Donastitch (who makes beautiful fairytale patterns).

I also like Cloudsfactory and have done the Star Wars Alphabet, a Clone Wars piece, and the Disney alphabet... it seems my scrapbooking and cross stitch follow a similar theme!

Love Cloudsfactory. I have finished a Dr Who quote ( the blink episode) and nearly finished The Hobbit one. The kids like those ones.

I used to cross stitch a lot when the kids were little, then just embroidery. I pick it every now and then but only smaller projects.
