Are you ever tempted to just stay in bed or go back to bed after getting everyone off to work and school? I am! I soooo didn't wanna get outta bed today. It was a little chilly this morning and I didn't sleep well, so I wanted to just stay in bed. I didn't want to get out into the cold air. I wanted to stay under the warm covers and go back to sleep for an hour or two.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this. If not this, what are you tempted to do that you know you probably shouldn't?

You aren't alone! I've done that several times on my day off. I usually end up sleeping too long, so I try to fight the temptation. Unfortunately, I'm a night owl and don't get enough sleep.

Some days - especially when I didn't sleep well the night before -- I have this temptation. My teens take care of themselves in the morning so I can stay in bed a little longer if I need to but I always feel guilty if I'm not up and making sure everything is under control. ;)

I have a dog alarm and morning dog walking duty, so I rarely get to sleep in. However, I am tempted to take a little nap most days around 3pm.... Good thing I am at home most days.

At one of my jobs, I would go into the bathroom stall and lay my head on the toilet paper rolls for a brief rest. Then I switched jobs and the new location used these hard covers on their rolls. Oh well.

I have to get up for work everyday.... so this is an everyday occurrence. I don't, but I have to wake myself up earlier so that I will get up on time, cause I like the snooze button too much. I've limited my self to 2 snoozes only. :giggle

This was me today! I am sick though so that is the biggest reason ... BUT - I had to shower, dress and tidy up the house (why does it always look like a bomb went off on Monday - the family destroys my house over the weekends!) because the refrigerator service repair man is here. Bleh. I hope he hurries and then I can go back to bed w/some tea!

Chilly or rainy days do make it hard!

Tempted? I do this whenever possible! Actually, I totally kept the kids home on Thursday. Their allergies were so bad that it was hard just to open their eyes. I called my boss & the school & let them just sleep. We're switching allergy medicines. But seriously, sometimes the body just needs extra rest.

Oscar Wilde and I have one thing in common: "I can resist everything except temptation." :) But my problem isn't wanting to go back to bed; I don't want to get out of bed in the first place! But once I'm up, then I'm up for the day. Er, or rather, I'm up unless I decide to have a nap in the afteroon, which I did yesterday. It was marvelous!

Ohhh yes!!! I'm typically the last to fall asleep and the first to wake up...some mornings I would give anything to have just another hour of sleep!

Oh man! Every. single. day. If I didn't have to go to work I think I could be pretty awesome at sleeping in. Lol! My poor hubby is wanting me to become a morning person so bad. I just don't think it'll ever happen, poor guy. He has these visions of us as old retired people getting up before the crack of dawn to go for a walk together and start our day. Bleck! I love to sleep in and stay up LATE! :)

Not really tempted to sleep later but I am always tempted to stay in my jammies, drink coffee and read my book just a little longer than I should. Some mornings I get so engrossed in my book that I don't pay attention to the clock and then I'm scrambling to get the computer booted up and get at it. I work at home but try to stick to a schedule b/c I have deadlines every day to meet and slacking off too much means I have to work later into the evening which isn't really good b/c I'm not as sharp, not as productive, as earlier in the day so then it just takes longer to get it all done. I love holidays or wkends when I can usually laze around more in the morning. I love that!

I actually just started a new sleep regime and it's AMAZING. I feel SO much better and I'm alert and awake and have so much more energy when I am up.

Basically I go to bed at a normal time, then about 2-4 am I end up waking up. I've just started working until I get sleepy again and then go back to sleep. We fought and fought against it, trying to get me to sleep through the night and a couple weeks back I finally had enough of it and said that I was just going to let my body do whatever.

So now I stay up, work, get the kids up and on the bus and then around 8-10 am depending on how tired I am, I go back to sleep, then wake up again around 2 or 3 and make dinner.. then go back to bed about 9pm.

It's been AMAZING.

Very tempting sometimes, but unfortunately I have to get myself to work. I never really "sleep in", I like getting up around 6 or 6:30 (it's my favorite time of the day), but that would be better than the 5am I do every day now lol. I am most productive in the morning!

I actually slept most of the day today. I hosted Mother's Day this year, so I cooked Friday night, Saturday and Sunday . . . because it takes that long for me to do everything! I was hurting so bad last night that it took forever to go to sleep and then today I could hardly move. I decided to sit back down with my book after breakfast and promptly fell asleep for 4 hours! Nothing got done! YIKES! I left to pick up Daniel and then came back to the house and started all the things I should have done during the day. I'm hurting again now because I smushed everything into a one hour pick up session, but it was worth having that delicious sleep.

@Serena I'm so glad you've found peace with your sleep schedule. I fought against mine for a long time. Now I just sleep when I sleep and then use my time awake, whenever it happens to be, as wisely as possible!

@keepscrappin Be kind to yourself and listen to your body to get that extra rest. I know you struggle with physical ailments, too, so your body is speaking to you . . . sleep, girl, sleep!

I wake up with the birds or when my computer turns on at 06:30 (it's that iMac sound which is kind of like the memorex one). More and more, I stay in bed just dozing until 7am. I'm switching bedrooms tomorrow to have a better a/c for when we finally get heat - this week they say. I love the cold of that a/c and the droning sound. We'll see how long I sleep!

I was talking to the woman across the street this a.m. who retired about 6 months ago. She said it took her about 1 day to get used to it! I know she's always been a night owl and now she rarely gets up before 10. I'd say she's about 55.

@gonewiththewind Sounds like you had a great weekend, but overdid it. I pray you can get relief soon. I really do need to listen to my body and take care of myself. I tend to go in spurts and clean like a mad woman for an hour or two and then pay for it for the next 2 days. I should know better by now. Like @Serena I usually wake up around 3 or 4 and struggle getting back to sleep. I have fought it for so long, that I really should just get up and work for a bit and go back to sleep after Megan goes to school. Thanks ladies for your encouraging words. It's so good to know that I'm not alone in all this. BIG HUGS TO YOU BOTH!

oh yep -tempted - but unless i'm sick it doesn't happen and then usually it's the lounge with a blanket and box of tissues!
