I'm so glad the weekend's almost here. It's been a crazy busy week and I need a break. It's date night tonight...Not sure what we're doing, but I don't care. I just want to go out with my hubby and relax and enjoy each other's company.

I've also got digi night out on Saturday, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's so fun to meet up with scrappin friends every other month. I don't get much scrappin done, but we have a good time! :circles

How about you... what are your plans for the weekend?

I couldn't be more boring. We are having our taxes done tomorrow, appointment is at 8:30, so no sleeping in for me. On Sunday, we'll do groceries. I hope to bake some grain-free cookies this weekend. Last week I baked chocolate chip mocha biscotti & they were to die for. :-)

I love weekends. And we get three days each weekend. So ours began today. And we are about to head out for my Honey's stress test to see how his heart is doing. I'm feeling concerned about what they will find. Especially after two ER visits in the past two weeks. What we get to do the rest of this weekend will depend on what happens this afternoon. :) But I'm really hoping we can do some shopping at Joann's. I have coupons!! Plus I think everything we need to get is on sale. Can't beat that. We need more yarn for loom hats, and some fun fabrics for birthday pillowcases for our grandkids, and some flower garlands, etc. And then grocery shopping. I'm hoping to get some reading done. Maybe some scrapping with my new stash. And some zentangle would be nice. See if I can de-stress some a bit. :) I did get another book finished last night. That makes 8 books and 2 novellas read since the first of the year. :) So I will be picking out a new one to start on sometime today.

Boring is good! I'm all for low stress, staying at home weekends.

I hope you get good news on the heart tests. And all your crafting and reading sounds like you've got a fun, productive weekend ahead of you!

Good luck with the stress test @Jan - please keep us posted!
Have fun at date night @keepscrappin !!
@mcurtt - I love boring weekends too!! The cookies you made last weekend do sound delish!!

We were supposed to meet my niece and her wife for dinner tonight, but they came down with the flu - so that's scratched. Tomorrow AM we are meeting my nephew and his wife for breakfast and then in the afternoon heading to an RV show - just dreaming for now, but hope to buy one in a few years. I *think* I found a car dealer that is willing to take my Audi in trade (have had troubles finding interested dealers because of the Takata air bag recall) - so we might stop and look at a Pacifica Limited and drive it after the RV show ... if we like it, will see what they offer for my vehicle. Sunday we will have to get groceries and that will be the extent of it since we'll be gone all day Saturday.

Pretty much it is church related, started off today we had a funeral and Im in charge of those. Then tomorrow I have to wake up and make the bread for communion this weekend (i have that 'job' 6x's a year) but I also have to prepare communion this weekend (that 'job' I have once a month)

@keepscrappin I hope you have a fabulous date night. And I'm always jelly when you get to go to Digi Night Out!!!

@mcurtt Um, send me some biscotti, won't you? LOL Sounds delish! And I love low key, relaxing times!

@Jan I hope the testing went OK. Please update when you can! I went to Joann's after my pain management appointment yesterday and I used my coupon. I was supposed to only get a couple of skeins of thread for my cross stitch project, and instead, I picked up some 4Gypsies clearance so and now I have a chipboard banner project I'm going to do . . . I'm excited about it!

@JillW Enjoy the RV show. I love to watch tiny house/rv/alternative living videos . . . and I love seeing how people organize and such. The RVs really have changed. I would love to have an Airstream and restore it/decorate it!

@Sokee What kind of bread do you make for communion? We only have these tiny little wafers that you can choke on if you're not careful! LOL

I was supposed to go to a Women's Retreat for those women who serve (pastor's wives, worship leaders, etc.). My mom is teaching a painting class. I ended up getting sick and dx with the flu this morning. I knew yesterday I probably wouldn't be able to go, but I put off telling my mom until today. They are posting photos and having a good time, and it makes me sad that I'm missing it! Ugh.

So I'm resting/sleeping, surfing the net. I might get some layout posting done and might scrap some, depending on how I feel. I know I'm gonna watch some TV later and do some cross stitching if I don't fall asleep again. Ha!

My walking friend and I usually walk Saturday mornings but we rescheduled it to Sunday late afternoon - evening and after we walk we're going to make some full moonrise photos.

I think I'm taking my daughter shopping Saturday afternoon. My other daughter has a game with her friends and then is singing at a community open mic Saturday. And of course I'll be scrapping Sunday before I go out, as Sunday is always my scrapping day. Not the only day I scrap, but I at least scrap on Sunday.

Happy weekend to everyone!

We're going to the library tomorrow morning so my daughter can read to a service dog. She's excited! #kidsbecray

Otherwise, we don't have any real plans. It's supposed to be really cold so no playing or getting outside. My daughter needs to work on her independent study project some more. I need to do some stuff around the house but at least I got the kids to pick up the basement tonight before bed. Church is Sunday morning, and then it's back to the grind. I have a phone interview Monday morning so I'll do a little prep Sunday night but I'm not devoting too much time to it.

It was a crazy week at work! Everyone seemed so off-kilter. I don't know what it was, but I'm glad it's over. I went grocery shopping after work and unexpectedly had to pick up my grandson from day care. I love spending time with him, but it cancelled my Friday evening nap plans :giggle. I'm beat, so I'm hoping the weekend is pretty low-key. DH's birthday is Sunday and I plan to make him a great dinner. It's going to be a cold one, so we probably won't get out much.

Driving home from Spring Break vacation on Saturday. Mixed feelings - vacation time is fun but I miss the pup dog and regular routine, like scrapping while the family does their own thing.

Then they are talking snow on Sunday --- What??? Like it was 79 here at the beach today. Probably a trace at most and it will melt within hours. Oh well.

Thank you, Ladies. My Honey survived the stress test. He was able to do the whole routine so that was good. Before he had his heart surgery 23 years ago they stopped him and wouldn't allow him to finish it because it was literally going wild on the monitor. So we are taking today to mean he is doing okay. But we still have to hear what the doctor says. That appointment is next Friday unless they move it up for some reason which would not be good as it would most likely mean there is a problem. So! We just have to wait now and see. Thank you again for your love and concern. We went to the Crackerbarrel for dinner on the way home and that was a lovely little break for both of us. :)

I"m working a lot over the weekend and need to get some household chores done. So not a very exciting wkend. My daughter is moving most of her stuff into her new place this wkend so the house should be quiet and I can hopefully get lots done.

I'm so glad the weekend's almost here. It's been a crazy busy week and I need a break. It's date night tonight...Not sure what we're doing, but I don't care. I just want to go out with my hubby and relax and enjoy each other's company.
This is SO me! DH and I went on a date Weds. night. Our babysitter has class and/or works Fri - Sun so Weds was the best day for us to get out. After I got the babysitter/day lined up, I told DH "I don't care what we do. We just have to get out of here!" lol.
But to your original question: DH has DD at her swim lesson right now. But we have a busy day around here doing little home repairs. DS's bedroom light/fan combo stopped working this week. DH is going to switch DS's box with DD's to see if the box is the problem. If so, then it's an easy, $30 DIY fix. If not, then we've got to call an electrician. *sigh* And I've got to take broken hinges off of our kitchen cabinets and mail them back to the manufacturer: they said they'll replace them for free. Woo hoo! I also want to move a big console table from our room to our family room. It's heavy and cumbersome and I just don't want to do it lol, but it'll look so nice behind our new sofa!
I've already dusted/vacuumed the main floor, so I feel accomplished. I even got out the attachment and vacuumed return air vents. They were a bit yucky lol cuz I always forget about them when I do my normal "run vac over floors" stuff. I even dusted the TV, which I hate doing cuz I'm afraid I'll accidentally scratch it, even with the special cloth.
Oh, and DD has to make a big tri-fold poster board presentation for a STEM project. The work itself is done but now it's got to get put together. She did the actual experiments with DH but the visual, "where should info go on my board?" stuff will be done with me.

I'm guessing your communion is similar to what my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) calls the sacrament. My hubby's new church calling as the High Priests Group Leader involves him bringing the bread for the sacrament 4 months a year. I've helped with lots of funerals too, mostly making funeral potatoes for the family luncheons. Mormons love funeral potatoes so we make for more than just funerals. If they're for a party, we call them cheesy potatoes, but it's the same thing... hehe

My hubby loves going to the RV shows. We always dream of having one, but it'll have to wait until we retire become snowbirds. I hope you'll be able to trade in your Audi. Those airbag recalls are so scary. Here's to being able to get a new, safer car that meets your needs, so you can enjoy your grandkids.

I wish you were feeling better and were going to Digi Night Out too! Sending prayers that you get well soon. Sorry you didn't get to go to the retreat. It sounds so fun and uplifting!
