Weekend plans | pad patter 3.10.17

Just keeping kids alive LOL!
We don't make plans...we're fly by the seat of our pants kinda people.

This is so me most weekends. We're usually running around like chickens with our heads cut off, trying to make sure the kids get to all their activities, the laundry gets done and the house stays somewhat livable.

My walking friend and I usually walk Saturday mornings but we rescheduled it to Sunday late afternoon - evening and after we walk we're going to make some full moonrise photos.

awe... moonrise photos sounds so pretty. can't wait to see them on your layouts!

We're going to the library tomorrow morning so my daughter can read to a service dog. She's excited! #kidsbecray

Otherwise, we don't have any real plans. It's supposed to be really cold so no playing or getting outside. My daughter needs to work on her independent study project some more. I need to do some stuff around the house but at least I got the kids to pick up the basement tonight before bed. Church is Sunday morning, and then it's back to the grind. I have a phone interview Monday morning so I'll do a little prep Sunday night but I'm not devoting too much time to it.

Gold stars for you getting the kids to help pick up the basement. I'm afraid to go downstairs and see a mess. Aspen had 7 or 8 teenagers over late last night playing games in our theater room. Hopefully they cleaned up after themselves. I got too tired and went to bed at 11. Hubby says they stayed until midnight.

It was a crazy week at work! Everyone seemed so off-kilter. I don't know what it was, but I'm glad it's over. I went grocery shopping after work and unexpectedly had to pick up my grandson from day care. I love spending time with him, but it cancelled my Friday evening nap plans :giggle. I'm beat, so I'm hoping the weekend is pretty low-key. DH's birthday is Sunday and I plan to make him a great dinner. It's going to be a cold one, so we probably won't get out much.

I hope you get the low-key weekend you've been wishing for. Sounds like you've had a crazy, busy week.

Driving home from Spring Break vacation on Saturday. Mixed feelings - vacation time is fun but I miss the pup dog and regular routine, like scrapping while the family does their own thing.

Then they are talking snow on Sunday --- What??? Like it was 79 here at the beach today. Probably a trace at most and it will melt within hours. Oh well.

Spring Break... I'm so jelly. Ours is the first week in April and I can't wait. We are renting a condo in St. George so we can get out of the cold. I'm so ready for Summer. I don't even care if we skip Spring, I'm tired of being cold.... hehe

Thank you, Ladies. My Honey survived the stress test. He was able to do the whole routine so that was good. Before he had his heart surgery 23 years ago they stopped him and wouldn't allow him to finish it because it was literally going wild on the monitor. So we are taking today to mean he is doing okay. But we still have to hear what the doctor says. That appointment is next Friday unless they move it up for some reason which would not be good as it would most likely mean there is a problem. So! We just have to wait now and see. Thank you again for your love and concern. We went to the Crackerbarrel for dinner on the way home and that was a lovely little break for both of us. :)

I'm glad he was able to finish the stress test. Sounds like he's headed the right direction. And yay for getting a lovely break!

I"m working a lot over the weekend and need to get some household chores done. So not a very exciting wkend. My daughter is moving most of her stuff into her new place this wkend so the house should be quiet and I can hopefully get lots done.

Boo to doing chores, but you've got the right attitude... GO RAE! I'm always amazed at how much work I can get done when the house is quiet and I can just focus and push through!

This is SO me! DH and I went on a date Weds. night. Our babysitter has class and/or works Fri - Sun so Weds was the best day for us to get out. After I got the babysitter/day lined up, I told DH "I don't care what we do. We just have to get out of here!" lol.
But to your original question: DH has DD at her swim lesson right now. But we have a busy day around here doing little home repairs. DS's bedroom light/fan combo stopped working this week. DH is going to switch DS's box with DD's to see if the box is the problem. If so, then it's an easy, $30 DIY fix. If not, then we've got to call an electrician. *sigh* And I've got to take broken hinges off of our kitchen cabinets and mail them back to the manufacturer: they said they'll replace them for free. Woo hoo! I also want to move a big console table from our room to our family room. It's heavy and cumbersome and I just don't want to do it lol, but it'll look so nice behind our new sofa!
I've already dusted/vacuumed the main floor, so I feel accomplished. I even got out the attachment and vacuumed return air vents. They were a bit yucky lol cuz I always forget about them when I do my normal "run vac over floors" stuff. I even dusted the TV, which I hate doing cuz I'm afraid I'll accidentally scratch it, even with the special cloth.
Oh, and DD has to make a big tri-fold poster board presentation for a STEM project. The work itself is done but now it's got to get put together. She did the actual experiments with DH but the visual, "where should info go on my board?" stuff will be done with me.

YAY for Wednesday date night! So proud of you for doing it on a weekday, so you wouldn't miss out... GO SARA! Sounds like you and hubby are DIY gurus. I used to do a lot more DIY things when my health was better. My hubby calls me the handyma'am. I'm the one who fixes things around the house. My brain is just wired to figure out how things work and with youtube I'm usually able to fix most things. I've fixed our 20-year old washer and dryer by watching youtube and going to the appliance repair store for parts. It's saved us tons! I'm the brain and he's the brawn when it comes to home improvement and repairs.... hehe

This is me too.

I have a cold this weekend so I'm hoping to do as little as possible. It's busy weekend for our kids, though. Our daughter is taking the SAT this morning and our son is spending the day at All State Band. So, I'm sure we'll be going out to celebrate tonight.

I wish you were feeling better and were going to Digi Night Out too! Sending prayers that you get well soon. Sorry you didn't get to go to the retreat. It sounds so fun and uplifting!

I will be a featured designer at some point this year. I'm hoping at least for that night, I'll be able to join in by Google Hangout . . . but we'll see . . . I might be able to do it before then.
