CLOSED Monthly Muse February 2017 - Get Skinny! week-1

I miss the aerobics classes, well in theory that is. Can't wait to play along.

How fun! I am late to the party because I was ill the last few days (thank God it started right after the last MOC page because I was unable to even go online).

Love the format, definitely different. I'm not a big fan of out of proportion stuff, but, hey, I didn't think I'd be a big fan or arches either... Need to get caught up with everything and then I'll play.

bhhahah at restraint...you can fill it, but I have strange and obscure requirements...lol, maybe you get it, maybe you don't.

The added restraint will be my extra challenge this month! Can't wait to see what you'll have in store & see how this thing comes together!

I would love to play because I need an excuse to get some dollies...but I'm not sure what category I can find paint in? When searching for paint I get pages and pages back but there must be a better search option?

most kits have paint in them...before you buy...open your lily pad folder(where you have all your designs neatly stored) tee hee and search paint in that...that will help you. I think?

Anne - I would love to give this a try but will be travelling (without access to Photoshop) for two weeks in February. Can I still play? When does the current month's M3 kit come out? I have very few "legal" (i.e. from the Lilypad) supplies to work with.

@flowersgal this is a play as you like challenge, and ends after my 1st cup of coffee on the 1st of March! tee hee...so enjoy your vacation, and build up your lily pad stash. I recommend signing up for designer newsletters, they have additional coupons, and many put freebies up in them or on their blog too!

Get Skinny - Week 1
Supplies used: Paula Kesselring - Grunge Collection Banners 5 (the paints)
Paul Kesselring - Pop art freebie (You can do it)
Jan 2017 - M3 kit (paper, misc. elements)

Hope I did this correctly. Would someone let me know if not and what's wrong?

Thanks, Anne. Hopefully I can complete the challenge and learn more about art journaling. It's new to me and, I admit, quite a stretchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh since I'm a big word girl -- lots of journaling.

Question: Is one not allowed to use photos in art journaling?
Question 2: If we are just playing for fun and not to earn a prize or reward is there a need to post anywhere other than in this thread - i.e. gallery?
Question 3: What is an "inchie"?

q1. yes, you can use photos, you can use anything...art journaling is more like playing with your program and things to create for you. I sometimes print them, sometimes I like the process of making it more than the end results....there are not any set rules in art journaling...and journaling can be a huge part of it too...so don't worry if you have lots of words it is good

q2. you can post here, or not, that is totally up to you. I have a prize coming, but MOC threw everyone, so I am waiting to post what it is...but is usually a coupon for in the store. I love having you post in gallery, cause others that are scared of art journaling go...man Flowersgal is an art journaler too, I thought she wasn't, and gosh I love her page...how cool, maybe I can try....
but you don't have too...even for the coupon, just posting here is sufficient. I do try with all my might to love up each one in the thread! ♥

q3. an inchie...are amazing miniture canvas' 1x1 inch! Pure craziness. I will go into them more at the chat (and I will have the chat condensed and in the forum in case you miss it) I love them..they are something to be savored, not done in 10 minutes, but enjoyed.

I am happy you ask questions, and I am not the guru of art journaling, if any of my sistahs in scrap have different answers, please chime in and make this OUR safe space for art journaling ♥

Looks like fun! Going to try this although my Virus Scanner didn't like the download site for the templates!

oh wow...hmmm, well, for the skinnies, all you really need to do is make 4 equal rectangles. I will ask LIz to put in the store as a freebie. I don't want any virus'

I just kept saying ok until it let it download so I hope it wasn't a bogus site that crept in to my comp. I know Liz's site is ok so I trusted it. I just scanned the file that I downloaded and it scans ok - no virus!
