Do you watch them? Love them? Hate them? Hallmark/Lifetime (or whatever it's called now)?
I rarely watch them, b/c I rarely watch TV, but I do love them! It doesn't matter that every plot is the same, or that they are all pretty mindless, they give me the warm and fuzzies and I can totally multi-task while watching without fear of missing much.

What about you? Do you have a favorite Classic? Any movie traditions? Do you like to numb your brain with them? Or are you totes serious about them? :giggle

Normally I am a totally non-cheesy type of person. I would never willing turn on a Hallmark movie... but.... whenever I go to my mother-in-law's house she has them on and I get sucked in every. single. time. Sometimes I make my family stay until the end of a movie even though I totally know what's going to happen. :giggle

I am not much of a TV watcher in general - so don't really have any Christmasy favorites.

I watch a Hallmark Christmas movie nearly every night. I miss the beginning of the 8 p.m. movie because that's when my kids go to bed so depending on how soon they go to sleep and if I've seen it before, I tune in after I get them down. I almost always watch the 10 p.m. movie unless I've just seen it within the last week or it's one of the handful that I don't enjoy.

My favorite part is their cheesy predictability. Life needs more cheesy romance & predictability especially at Christmastime.

I can't remember the last time I watched one ... 10 yrs ago maybe? It's not even on my radar. BUT ... I totally get it ... because after coming off a stressful school year, all I want to do is sit on a beach & read this exact type of book - cheesy, predictable, feel good, and a of course a little romance thrown in. :beat So does that count?

Last summer I read the Mary Alice Monroe Summer Beach Triology books after finals ... it's not my usual genre at all. But it felt so good to read something like that first. And then I am good to go for just about any other type of story after that.

I LOVE the Christmas Hallmark movies! Me and my husband dvr all the new ones and get comfy cozy (make a margarita) and relax.

other Christmas movies we need to watch each year is . . .

I love the cheesy Hallmark movies. My husband and kids laugh at me when I watch them, but I've noticed they get sucked in to some too. I haven't watched any this year and it's killing me. You've reminded me that I need to go set the DVR right now! I know that life isn't really like those shows, but it sure would be good if it was, especially this time of year!

I'm also a fan of It's a Wonderful Life and force the family to watch it with me every year. I really should get it on DVD or blu ray so I don't have to hunt for it on TV each year.

My hubby loves Christmas Vacation and forces me to watch it every year. hehe

We all love the Grinch (the one with Jim Carey), so that's one we MUST watch. And Mickey's Christmas Carol is a Christmas favorite - must watch too.

Hmmm.... I'm on the fence, or more like Karen. If I get sucked in, I must watch till the end. There are a couple that I will leave on, and look for specifically. (Like Snow, or Santa Baby, lol!)

This doesn't include my Christmas movie staples.... Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Rudolph, A Christmas Story, The Grinch (old and new), The Santa Clause (1, 2, 3), ELF, The Polar Express, and all those movies.... since they may be cheesy, but some are more classic cheesy. :giggle

I know, right? I can't help but get sucked in when they are on.

I'm counting this!

I love the cheesy Hallmark movies! I'm all for a sappy happy ending! I never watched them until last December. I was in Tulsa and my mother was dying. I would go back to the hotel at any time of the night and turn on Hallmark Channel and it got me through my tears. Now they bring me joy.

I watched a couple last year but I can only take so much cheese. :D So, are there ones that are particularly good that we should make an effort to watch?

It's a tradition for me to watch the cheesy Christmas Hallmark movies. I have a bunch ready to watch on my laptop as I scrapbook. Last year my fave Hallmark one was Ice Sculpture Christmas.

I'm the annoying one that mocks them while they are on. Sorry to those who love them, it's really not personal. And I do read cheesy novels, and thoroughly expect mocking for those. My mom turns them on as soon as they start up, and between her and MIL they are on all December. I probably wouldn't mock them, except it's a 24-7 thing for those two. So, mock I do, although I try to do so under my breath to DH only. Or sometimes via text messages.

The ones with Kimberley Paisley (I think that's her name?) aren't as cheesy usually as some of the others.

Meet the Santas and Silver Bells are the only ones I can think of right now that I have really enjoyed watching. There are others, I just can't think of them at the moment.

I liked Ice Sculpture too.

Rae - Do you watch them from a website or do you have digital copies?

I'll have to go see if my amazon prime membership has any that I could watch for free while scrappin.

I don't really watch tv at all, ever, so I don't intentionally turn on any cheesy Christmas movies either. DH enjoys them a lot more than I do and if we happen to be in the same room, I will watch or listen, but I don't seek them out myself. I do enjoy Christmas Vacation, Elf and a couple of others, and do try to catch them at least once this time of year, so I guess I am more of a Christmas comedy fan :)

I don't usually watch the Hallmark Christmas movies, but I'm all for the classics like White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Miracle on 34th Street (original). I also like the modern classics like Christmas Vacation, The Santa Clause, and, of course, those wonderful holiday classics - Die Hard and Die Hard II. :D
