Cheesy Christmas Movies | Pad Patter 12.6.16

They are cheesy, but I end up watching the whole thing every time. Watched one last night because nothing else was on.

I liked Ice Sculpture too.

Rae - Do you watch them from a website or do you have digital copies?

I'll have to go see if my amazon prime membership has any that I could watch for free while scrappin.
A lot of them I find on Youtube. I don't care if they aren't the best quality as I'm just listening/watching while I scrap usually. Our Lifetime channel shows a lot of the movies as does our "on demand" app for comcast. Here's one that is in my "watch later" youtube folder.
I'll watch it on my laptop but not full screen b/c the quality isn't the greatest. I don't mind though b/c I don't really watch, I just glance over as I listen b/c I am busy scrapping on my PC.

An all-time fave we watch is the Christmas Story" which always plays here on Xmas Eve or Day. I laugh every year when I see the same clip of the youngest boy sticking his tongue to the pole and it freezes there LOL.

So, I always have the tv on in the background when I'm home. I really only watch 2 channels. Investigation Discovery & Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. For some ridiculous reason, HMM starts playing Christmas movies super early, even though they have the regular Hallmark channel. It irritates me, so I refuse to watch the channel until after Thanksgiving. Once I start watching those Christmas movies, I rarely stop. My office-mate turns on the Christmas music after Thanksgiving too. He favors Johnny Mathis & The Carpenters. It's pretty funny.

I love The Santa Clause & Santa Clause 2. The Scrooge with Jim Carrey is just amazing to me. I took the kids to the drive-in to see Jim Carrey's Grinch a while back & that was incredible on the big screen.

The Hallmark channel movies are so bad, they're good. I watched "A Crown for Christmas" which starred Winnie from the Wonder Years, and the Mariah Carey/Lacey Chabert one on the weekend.
We also have a Christmas radio tradition. There is a show on CBC (Canadian public broadcasting) radio called "Vinyl Cafe" the story "Dave Cooks the Turkey" is a holiday must. We listen to it every year on our way to my parent's place for Turkey dinner. It's become such a classic you can actually buy it as a little hardcover book for gift giving.

You can listen to it, here:

i don't watch a lot of tv. i don't think i've ever seen a cheesy hallmark or lifetime movie.

I'm not opposed to cheesy movies, I just don't watch those channels these days.

I completed a layout recently about my top 10 movies for Christmas. I have so many more I love as well . . . but here's a good sampling:

I love Hallmark Christmas movies. They are so sappy, a bit of an indulgence this time of year for me. I must admit I am crying extra this year, I am blaming that on being eight months pregnant. My husband laughs at me for crying, but gets sucked into watching some of the movies.
