Have you ever ran into someone with your same name? Or stumbled across them on Facebook or other social media? Or googled your name to see who is the first result?

I always wonder what their lives are like. My fascination started when I was about 10 years old. My mom and I went to the Dr. She was pregnant. The office was checking her chart, but it was the wrong one! Her name had an e at the end Kim VanDyke, and this chart didn't. Both were pregnant though, with August birthdays, and my mom learned to always specify 'with an e'. Imagine my surprise when the school system messed up my records with another Courtney. Turned out that 'no e' Kim, also had a daughter named Courtney. And had I not moved, we would have been in the same year at the pretty small high school.

Then I googled my married name one day, and found a pretty rockin' tennis star! And my son shares a name with a photographer.

Oh WoW!! For a short time I do know someone that had the same name as me. When I married my husband he had a first cousin that shared my full name at that time...... until she got married. LOL

BUT that would be super strange to go through school with someone with your name.

Me, not so much, I have seen other's with my name online though. But my husband, that's another story. When we first got married, we would get mail addressed to "Jeff Radtke" - wedding invitations and class reunions for people he didn't know and a school he didn't attend. We figured out that there is another Jeff Radtke here in Chicago around the same age. Over the years, we have had run ins with them, but have never met them. We apparently go to the same dentist and occasionally they get our files mixed up. We had kids in the YMCA swim program at the same time, but our kids were always in different levels, so we never met. We got a call from our window washing company a couple months ago saying that they were on their way to our house when we hadn't scheduled anything (the other Jeff Radtke's house was where they were headed). I have two friends here, who are friends with the him as well (one knows him through kid activities and the other went to high school with him). The latest thing was that when school was starting for Clara at her new high school, we kept getting notifications that her tuition hadn't been paid and our billing wasn't set up properly (but we knew that we had)... turns out, the other Jeff Radtke's son is a senior at this same school and somehow our payment went to their account! Clara says she had several teachers tell her the first weeks of school how they could see the family resemblance, assuming that she was related to the senior boy!

Like I said, even with all of this, we still haven't met... but after 20 years of crossing paths, I think it's finally going to happen! :-)

with my maiden name,
I went to get a library card here in my little town, and there was already one registered. It wasn't me, she lives in the higher foothills. I thought it was mucho coolio.
Since my first and middle name is Anne Marie and my married last name is so Italian....when I tell people my name, they always go wow? Italian? I laugh, naw, Irish/Scottish...hence my PINKness!

I know quite a few people with the same name - both pretty common in these parts ... Jill Williams ... our daughter in law's name is Amanda (Williams) ... my niece's name (hubby's brother's daughter) is Amanda Williams - so we have 2 in the same family! LOL!

therea a footballer (soccer player) on the womens national team with the same name but spelled jill wwith a j rather than with a g. i am the most unathletic person on the planet so i got a bit of stick for that one!

I have an unusual maiden name and married name, so I've never come across it. But definitely went to school with a lot of Julie's - I got really tired of having to use my last initial!!

In middle school, there was another girl with the same name as me. We only had different middle initials. I was a straight A student and she was...not. One semester, I was given her report card by mistake which was all C's and D's. I had a total meltdown and cried at school before my homeroom teacher realized it was a mistake. LOL

There are a lot of Kim Jensen peeps in the world, both male and female. One is a writer. One was a little girl in the original Footloose movie. And for a while I kept running across references to an actress/motivational speaker. I used to have a Google alert set up, and most of the alerts I got were for a high school athlete in a town about 40 miles from my home town. There must be one in this area as well, since for a long time I was getting calls from debt collectors. Nope, not my social security number - wrong Kim Jensen!

My maiden name is more unusual, but I just Googled and found a few. The first result was a computer teacher at a middle school about 30 minutes from me. Small world. :)

my legal name is not Jlynn (It's Jennifer). But my maiden name is a bit unique. When I was in college, there was a wedding announcement in my paper for a Jennifer *maiden name*. My actual name (and with Lynn being my middle, we shared it too). Needless to say the guys I worked with brought in the announcement and gave me a hard time. Later there was also a mix up of her paperwork and mine at my ob, where we apparently both went!! LOL

I've never bumped into a Jlynn - except for the little girl who is named after me :)

And the fact that I'm a Jennifer Lynn, born in the 70s - well, I've bumped into waaayy too many of those! Which is why I nicknamed myself Jlynn day 2 of freshman year in college :)

There are a lot with my name so yes! And once in awhile I stumble on a Jennifer with the last name that matches an ex (like one that I dated for 5+ years :giggle) so sometimes that stops me in my tracks too!
only question is do you have a different middle name than the "most common" one that goes with Jennifer? LOL

YIKES! I just googled my name. I found a couple of an obituary for MARILYN CURTTRIGHT (my married name). I clicked on one of them, and there was a photo of a headstone with my name on it. Pretty creepy. She died in 1986. I'm sure she is a relative on my husband's side of the family. She was from Iowa, and my DH's grandfather lived in Iowa with relatives after his father was killed in a farming accident. Everyone with the spelling of that last name, pretty much, is related.

I also googled my maiden name. KUPIEC. Not what I would consider common, but in Polish, it means MERCHANT. There were tons of hits for it, and they didn't look like they were for me.

Kind of a funny story: I live in a small town - population of about 5,000. When my daughter was in pre-k, I found out one of the other moms had the same name as me. Well, she's an Amanda, and I'm a Mandy, but she went by Mandy. She also had 3 children. A few years later, she was arrested and it was in the local paper. That same day, the school counselors at all of my childrens' schools pulled them out of class, asked if anything was going on at home and how many siblings they have. Her kids were home-schooled and mine were the only ones with that last name. I still get looks from some of the teachers and parents when I volunteer at the schools. I mean, really, what are the odds?

As far as Google, there's a Canadian tv host and a British children's book author. So, if I want to be famous, I'll have to use my maiden name or a pen name. :)

I'm sure my first and last name is too unusual for there to ever be another one. I sometimes hear of or meet another named "Rae" but to combine that with my last name "Clevett" which is not a common name, that is pretty unlikely.

I am the only Stefanie Semple.
I just googled.
There may be other Semples, even a Stephanie Semple that was a poet...but I am the only one!

I have thought about rebranding my blog to use my name, but there is already a monicaandrews.com . She's an educational counselor. The weird thing is that I was in education for a while and we look similar (curly, red hair).

When my YD was in preschool there were 3 other girls with her first name. Then when she
was in Jr high there was a girl with her whole name
