So I just said bye to my un-announced guests, and came to thank the girls for a great chat (Danyale & Cheryl and all of you there) I'm on my way to try sleep, but I had this in mind for quiet sometime (I have a collection of questions I made note of whilst I couldn't computer time!)
I sung professionally for quiet a while but I sung in places like weddings and restaurants and paino bars where people don't really "listen"...so my covers were as near the original as possible.... I don't really like covers these days especially because there are so many very old songs covered by op boy or girl bands where radio people don't even bother to clarify that, no, this isn't the Girls Aloud or Boys Whatever song...is actually a Stevie Wonder song or ...you get the idea.... but I have to admit all changed with Glee a few years ago...
I had never had interest in Lady Gaga but when Glee had Idina Menzel and Leah Michelle doing this amazing version of Pocker Face..... I loved it so much I played it non stop for 3 days...
Now I discovered another song which I actually like the original version, Royals by Lorde, who has a very peculiar voice and I love it, but this version by A Capella Pentatonix is (to me at least) far better!!!!!!

Have you got a cover/version of a song you like better than original?
I'm working on a playlist and would love suggestions!!!!

ohhh and Bart says good night!!!!!

I have one that I absolutely ADORE. The original version of Hallelujah was done by Leonard Cohen back in the mid-80's. But my very, very favorite version of it is by Rufus Wainwright. It's actually the cover he did for Shrek. Minor key...and ahhhh...his voice is just *shiver* perfect.

Pentatonix is awesome. They have a lot of songs, 2 or 3 CDS, one Christmas, maybe more.

^^^^ This!

I love Queen so much, and I was horrified by the addition of Adam Lambert when Marc Martel is so insanely talented...

His Bohemian Rhapsody gave me goosebumps.

But then there is also this... Animal kills me every time.

Maybe I just really love Muppets.

Cover of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"

Cover of Depeche Mode's "Your Own Personal Jesus" BY JOHNNY CASH!!!!

I have to check both of them out. I love Daft Punk and DM.

I often like covers, but one cover that I like much better than the original, even though I am a big The Cure fan is Adele's version of Love Song.

When I told my son I'd play him the original version of Ain't nobody he insisted it was NOT the original at all, what do I know. Can't argue with a thirteen year old.

I'm not too much of a Metal fan but used to love Black Sabbath & Sepultura (they are Brazilian & I know one of them) years ago...so I will give this a listen and maybe start my own Metal playlist!!!!

like this corry guy

oh he is really good!!!!! I didn't know the song but love him!!!! will go back later to find more of him!

oh you bring me back to my early 20s with The Cure!!!! LOve almost anything sung by Adele!!!! (she used to live near us too!)

and yes....the original/version thing gets on my nerves....
I was lucky I educated my daughter on music from a very very early age (both her dad and I were working with music/theater when she was born) so she is proud of telling of her friends for not knowing the originals!!!!
and the Ain't Nobody...you got that right as an example.... LOVE Chaka Kan.... first time I heard her years ago was on Little Italy she sung with Stephen Bishop (who I love too!!)

Cheryl, I 'm coming back to listen to both properly with time (just realized your quote wasn't included for some reason!) @gonewiththewind

hey...here is Bart for his G'morning kiss!!!!

kissing Bart........ and I am just about ready to head off to bed :)

May God curse me with leprosy if there is ever anything I love more than Justin Timberlake but I do love this cover of 'Mirrors' by Andrew Ripp as much as I do the original:

Speaking of Glee, I think this is the best cover they ever did on the show. The original is so fast that you really can't understand the words like you can in this version:

Generally speaking, I love most of Boyce Avenue's covers.
