So, I'm at work getting ready to get out my PB sandwich I brought for lunch (yes, I pack my lunch like I would my 3rd grader). And I have to literally move stacks in order to have a place to put my apple :).

My desk is a wreck. Always. And I'm totally OK with it.

How about you? Messy or Neat Freak when it comes to your work space? Bonus points for photos.

Messy at work and in my area in the kitchen. I've never been an organized type but am trying to fix that. I'm working on a desk area space in my room now that we've gotten rid of our huge TV armoire & 32" heavy TV. Finally got a flatscreen for our bedroom.

I pack myself PBJ almost every day too!

But my "desk" is really a place to store papers. I can't actually work there right now. Our coffee table is getting piled dangerously high too. But I cleaned off most of the dining table finally! :byayThe papers there went to the desk mostly haha!

I'm more organized than my husband by a lot so I blame him for the coffee table. :giggle I'm pretty good about putting actual stuff away, it's the papers that shuffle around.

I like a clean desk. However, when I clean it up my son and husband feel the need to drop papers and other stuff on it. So I keep it strategically messy. Because if it's messy, they drop stuff on the kitchen table.

I miss the idea that computers would create a paperless society. Sigh.

I currently don't have a desk... but judging by the piles of stuff around my laptop here on the kitchen table, it's a safe bet that it would be messy if I had one. :giggle

I went to a little class on getting organized eons ago and it was determined that I am a visual... if I don't see it, it doesn't exist. So papers that I still need to do something with (like fill out, read, scan, etc.) have to be out in order to remind me to do something with them. If they're put away, it's like they're not even here. This also explains why I tend to buy multiples of things that are put away.... I forget I have them, so I get another!

Neat by nature, but I can ignore things and when I do they get messy. Like I just walk through our library room without looking where hubby has stacks and stacks of papers everywhere. Every once in awhile I clean off my desk. I never sit at though. My work area is in a chair with the dog and laptop. It is relatively neat.

YAY. Glad I'm not the only one.
It's a Classic.

THIS.IS.ME totally! Glad to know it's a real thing :)

Oh and I read somewhere that a messy desk is a sign of a creative mind. :dancebun

I'm not too messy but not a neat freak either. I try to clear off my desk every few weeks. My file drawers are semi-organized. It's something I've been trying to improve for years. I started using Evernote more this year, which has helped a bit. It will help awesomely when I get into a habit of remembering to use it!

I am a neat freak! Even my drawers that no one looks in but me have to be organized. I don't know why, but it niggles at my brain if I know they aren't in order. And my desk has to be cleaned off before I can create. I'm very distracted if there's a mess.

Here's my desk right now!

Neat mess?! To you, very near, but to me, I see piles and piles (neat ones, lol) of work that has to be done, filed or reviewed. :giggle

I also grew up with parents that kept everything and it was messy... and I think my neatness was a rebellion to their habits. :giggle

:giggle I see ME on your computer! I never see "me" on such a clean desk. I am looking good among all of that order.

Mine is usually on the neater side (on the surface) because I can't handle chaos in my space for long. But unlike Cheryl, if you look in the drawers it is a mess!

Recently, I had been doing a lot of hybrid planner pages and things got crazy ... Note: I have 3 Ikea White tables in an L shape that make up my desk area ... all 3 were covered!!!

So I spent a good part of a day, last week, organizing and cleaning/purging. I came out with a better system to store the things I like to keep in my planner and use to decorate my weekly spreads so I feel so much better now... :D Here you can see 1 and 1/2 of the 3 Ikea tables. So just imagine the mess!

Mines neat, well... cuz I'm a neat freak! Everything is in it's place, put away, filed, etc. I stress when things are not tidy, including my home. (Yes, I take anxiety meds! LOL!) :-)

my desk is a messy desk too... and you can find everything on it : scrap stuff, toys of my children, school books.

@Lor I'm the same way! I crave order and tidiness. I have most everything neatly organized, but there are still systems that don't always work perfectly, so I'm constantly tweaking my organization!
