Duplicating Pages

I have done a couple completely by accident, one set of photos I scrapped two pages for within a week of each other... I don't know where my brain was, lol!
And there are a few that when I finished them I put them in the redo basket because I just wasn't happy. There is one that is of my daughter when she was about 2 weeks old, and I have scrapped it four times already. I just can't get it right, and it bothers me a lot! I just want to get someone else to scrap it! I might send the photos to my mum, lol!

I have a couple of systems set up to try to avoid accidentally doing this, but I'm human and prone to error, so I can't say it's never happened. It's one thing to purposefully rescrap a photo, if I have a different story to tell, or I have a CT obligation that would best be met using a particular photo I've already scrapped . . . and another to forget and rescrap a page that was perfectly fine in its original form.

Holy guacamole! You are uber organized!!!!

Here's something I am doing with my kids' albums since I'm starting so far back with them...

I am using the PL app to do many of the monthly layouts of them.

so the K is for Kaydence, the 1 being the first in her "series". The label at the top left is my indication of what time frame it will cover, and then I have a list of things I think I will add (it's pretty vague, i was not around my paper list when I did this), then I put the images of the layouts I've completed into the squares.

Cute idea!

Like @bestcee Courtney said, I color code my used photos with purple in Lightroom once I've scrapped them. It's a good visual cue for me to just look past them when I'm searching for photos for certain events. The same premise that @carilyne used . . . utilizing the "x" . . . just something out of the ordinary for you to recognize, hey, that's already done! In this screen shot, you can see that I've only scrapped two photos from that date, and they are of my cat, Holly Belle.

My second system is using an Excel file. I could just use Lightroom, but I also love seeing events/dates and what needs to be scrapped still. Here's a screenshot of the corresponding Excel sheet showing the layout that I completed with Holly Belle's photos. To the left of the completed layout is a description of what happened that day. I do that because I'm old, and I forget what has happened. Sometimes I'm more descriptive than other times.

Here's a peek at another section of the my Excel sheet, showing an event that has been completely scrapped (it's been grayed out). So ideally, when several rows are complete and grayed out, I know it's time to print and it's easy to find the layouts.

That is all so awesome!! I have an document like your excel document with my pages planned, but that still requires me to remember to update it regularly, lol!!

I have done this, just because I forgot I had already scrapped it.
Sadly I did it in my paper scrapping days as well.
I think it is just one of the side effects of being a prolific scrapbooker.

Maybe you should post the photo in the forum and see if someone has an idea for you?

Yes I have made multiple layouts with one set of photos on accident and I don't like it. I always try my best to avoid that.

If interested send me the photo and I will scrap it for you. Always fun doing someone else's photo! I had a couple of layouts created for me that came all the way from Germany, which was super fun! One from Nathalie Kalbach and the other from Christiane Muller. We were on the same CT back in my paper days and did a photo swaps. So Much FuN! @Chippi

No need anymore. I guess the universe was working for me today. If it hadn't been for this thread, the photos wouldn't have been in my brain and I wouldn't have thought of them immediately for Cheryl's blog challenge. I think one of my problems was too much happening on the page, so I kept it simple with Cheryl's template. The other problem was that all my album pages from back them were pretty much the same kit for the two page spread, so I wanted to keep that going. Anyway, it is done, I like it and it means that January 2009 is finally complete, lol! Here it is if you want to have a peek :)
