Lookie What I'm Getting . . .

Aw, she's adorable! Congratulations on your new fur-baby! I hope she helps you with your recovery!

It's been decades since we last had a puppy. Our last dog was a grown rescue. I've been Googling housebreaking and training tips. I really want to get this dog well trained. We're empty nesters, and I have the time to invest in her. While living in Germany I was always impressed with the Germans and the way they handled their dogs. So well trained, they often take them into restaurants and shopping. That's what I want to achieve. A well trained, well mannered little girl. Really looking forward to this. Something to think about other than my dumb ol' creaky knee.

I did finish MOC, it was rough, but I did it! And thank you for your nice comments on my pages. I'm blow away by the talent at this site. It's humbling.

I may bug you about some advice. I'm having issues with inflammation. Can't get it down. Frustrated.

Baby girl has arrived. She's even cuter in person. Still haven't figured out what we're going to call her. I'm afraid she thinks her name is "Puppy, no!" :eyeroll Now considering Gigi, Gidget, Zita (she's long and noodle like), Degen (Épée in German - sharp little teeth, hubby is a fencer). Darling son wants to call her Gadget. :cornfused Decisions!

Oh my goodness - she's precious! I can't think of a better friend to help with healing! :)

Choosing a name is always tough. Our puppy was nameless for more than a week when she came home. LOL

Oh Laura, that makes me feel better. I'm waiting for a name to just jump out at me. It's getting a bit ridiculous, but a name is so important.

She is just the funniest thing, with the sweetest personality. You should see these two empty-nesters just showering her with attention. I'm afraid she's going to end up spoiled rotten.

OHHHHHHHHH !!!! I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She will sure take your mind off the pain!! Hope you are soon off on your walks with her with no discomfort. Can't wait to see all the layouts.

Congratulations on your new addition, she looks precious! I hope your recovery speeds up and you are back to normal (well, better than normal since normal needed a knee replacement LOL).

She is adorable. How about Molly? She looks like she could be Molly.

My dog ended up as Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Because we are Disney fans too!

Love your noodle names!

You definitely have a cute little lady there Stephanie!

Ask me anything you want about knee replacement as I had one done Nov 2014 and had a super recovery. I hate to say it but I know sugar and all those troublesome whites aggravate inflammation. Ice packs (frozen peas) and Aleve helped me the most.

I was fortunate to have almost no pain afterwards and only needed Tramadol for a couple of days and then the occasional Tylenol. I also was fortunate that Medicare paid for an inpatient rehab as we have a three story house with the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. For those of you who might be going down this road, I really suggest getting yourself in the best shape you can before surgery which IS hard when your knee is killing you. However, I did that while trying to avoid the surgery but in the end, I knew when it was time.

That inpaitent rehab for two weeks allowed me to concentrate on the heavy duty exercises that they 'made' me do and nap otherwise. I was fed and my husband visited me but he was grateful he didn't have to take care of me. He thought he could but I knew better! The gadget with ice really helped the swelling even tho we were having a really really cold winter. It still felt great!

Recovery IS slower than you might expect and also be aware that there is a period of depression when you feel like you just want it all to be over with! This surprised me as I don't suffer from depression at all but a friend/nurse said Oh yeah, this is common and another friend/cardiologist agreed. I grumbled that they should tell us that! I cried and sniveled for a day or so and then it passed.

Again, Stephanie, if there's anything you want to ask, just pm me. I was 70 when I had it done and my surgeon jokes (I hope!) that the knee will outlast me!

How precious!!! I'm sure you are so glad to have the puppy in your home.
Wishing you a good recovery!
