What makes a polly candidate? Honest question. Not sour grapes.

This cracked me up. A week ago, I got an email from a site "Congratulations! One of our members is being spotlighted & your layout is one of her all-time favorites!" I looked at that layout & was like "Are you kidding me?" Maybe I'll start scrapping what I don't like to garner more praise. Just kidding! :giggle

I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves because it's our memories, and our emotions are tied to it. Making cookies is an act of love for me, but if they turn out bad, no biggie. There's a next batch. Layouts have the moment attached whether it's a photo, a memory, or an emotion. I think it's the same reason why some fret about being behind with scrapping, but don't worry about being behind in other hobbies.

Haha! Yes! Sometimes I post a LO that I think is OMG SUPER AMAZING THE WORLD HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS LO AND DIDN'T KNOW IT and then I get like one "this is neat" comment on it. Then I throw something together real quick just to get it done and it gets a Froggy Favorite. Then I spend forever staring at it trying to figure out why that one but not the other one and I never figure it out. :giggle Oh well.

@djp332 I loooooove templates! In fact, I had just been complaining to a friend about the lack of templates in recent BYOCs when it was announced that Cheryl and Liz were both coming to TLP and I did the biggest happy dance! :circles

I was a very new member here when MOC started and I was a little reluctant to commit. But I did, and was even surprised that I finished. I am a scrapper who always scraps with templates and I had to laugh when I heard that so many here dislike templates! And because of my love for all templates, I never in a million years thought that I would be picked to be a Polly. So to be one of those picked to be a guest Polly was a complete surprise to me. I'm scared and excited at the same time.

Donna, there is no shame in using templates. If there weren't a multitude of template lovers around, there would be no need for template designers. I almost always start with a template. Staring with a blank page is not my idea of fun. I want to leave that aspect of the creative process to someone who is better at it than I am, so I can focus on the parts that give me joy.

Donna, I'm another template scrapper and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Not everyone can make a template look good - there is skill there too!

Donna - I was so excited to see your name on the list and Jenn's @jk703 and Carol's @Iowan too!

I'm a template junkie too and use them on almost every layout. I'm so glad that we have so many fabulous template designers here at TLP.

I used to be scared of templates! I adore them, and wow are we spoiled here!
When I first started digiscrapping, the program I used had no templates. It was awful! I spent more time scraplifting than I did scrapping. I was so happy to switch to PSE just so I could start using templates, and especially using Liz's. I was over the moon when I landed my first CT position on her team almost 3 years ago. Plus, I really stink at clustering!

After I had been scrapping (with Ali Edwards templates) for a while I realized that while I could make many of my own supplies, the time was better spent scrapping and paying the designers to make things I could use...forever!!

the best place to start is to pour out as much praise on others. find even the smallest thing and the return is PRicEless!
Knowing that no matter how nice or mean (believe me I CAN be horribly mean) I am, I find a comfort in my Savior. His grace and forgiveness overflow in my heart, and I can not help to pour out the joy that is in my heart!
Anne, what a beautiful reminder! Hugs from Canada!
