I was just chatting in the gallery with a Girl Scout Mom and the Cookies!

and
usually I can get by them outside the store, by saying
oh sorry sweet girl that is so cute, but no cash
and she says, we take cards? and smiles, usually without front teeth..
swipe goes the card
What are your favs?

Since we're gluten free at my house, I can't eat my fav anymore - THIN MINTS - but they have come out with a GF shortbread and chocolate in my district.

Thin mints. That's it for me! Although DH likes samoas. And we used the shortbreads ones as teething biscuits a few year ago. I used to love the shortbread chocolate ones, but alas, they don't make them anymore.

My mother in law has been part of Girl Scouts forever! As in my husband celebrated his first birthday at Girl Scout Camp. :dance She always buys a ton because she can't say no to any of the girl scouts! So in about July, we go over and she'll foist some off on us. :dancebun

Side note: Did you know it depends on where you live as to what cookies are available? At least, that's how it's been historically.

So I totally came to post something GS related, rather than start a new post I'll just hijack @AnneofAlamo's :giggle

Did anyone else selling notice some super familiar looking doodles in the prize section of the order forms this year?!?

ETA: we are a little Brownie Baker council.

I've got the GF Tofee cookies. If you want to try them let me know and I'll hook you up with a box ;)

It was always thin mints, back in the day when I could eat them. Now I can only do gluten-free, and I must admit I'm rather peeved at GS when it comes to their GF cookies. They cost more than the others, and you only get 1/2 the cookies. $5 for 12 tiny cookies is just too much. Therefore, I don't purchase any cookies at all from them. They're just too expensive. (Sorry, GS families!)

We are a Thin Mint and Peanut Butter Patty household. I remember when the peanut butter ones were called Tagalongs, back in my scouting days. Is this a regional thing, or did they change the name?

@scrappyjedi They're still Tagalongs where I am. I found this page that shows the different names and different varieties. Some of these I'd never heard of. I'm a "Cookie Mom" for my daughter's troop. In the Dallas area we sell Savannah Smiles, Trefoils, Do-di-dos, Samoas, Rah Rah Raisin, Tagalongs, Thin Mints, and Toffe-Tastic. One of the most frustrating things is that the Fort Worth area sells the Lemonades. I've never had the opportunity to try them, but they have some pretty dedicated fans who are always turning their noses up at our Savannah Smiles. :p

Thin mints are a must order and they MUST be kept in the freezer. I have a weakness for Tagalongs. My daughter always wants a box of the lemon cookies. And I order Do-si-dos our of pure nostalgia from my scouting days. I always forget to order Samoas for my son, but thankfully he ordered his own boxes this year from a girl in his class.

Thin Mints and Shortbread! NOM NOM!

Interesting to see what people have and where!

Peanut Butter and Thin Mints here - the peanut butter ones with milk, and the mints all on their own. Now, where can I find a girl scout this time of night...

Have to have samoas! Chocolate and carmel are a match made in heaven. I ordered some from my niece but they aren't here yet... Why oh why did i look at this thread... Now I want my samoas! ;)
