Jan. 18: Art Journal (Style Challenge)

I just saw this and then your post explaining that gesso is white paint. I didn't know and did a search in the store and saw it looked like paint, so I just used paint. I hope you're not going to disqualify my layout because I didn't use something officially called gesso . . . ? I don't understand how it's different than paint. You can see my layout in the previous post or maybe a few up if some new ones have posted.

Well you know Lili you took me out of my zone of comfort... I guess I only do art journal for challenges
But anyway I really love the way my tayout turn and hope I haven't miss any required elements

Gesso IS paint, so that is perfectly fine. It's just THICKER paint, so you could add a TINY bit of a shadow if you wanted.

I struggled with this all day. It is so out of my comfort zone. Second guessed myself on everything. I believe I have all the required elements but if it does not fit the challenge-- can you please let me know and I'll try again. Thank you!

After the pressure of having to complete the challenge was over, I sat down to try again, I didn't feel like I challenged myself the first time so I came up with this on the second try. Still out of my comfort zone but I think closer to the actual challenge.
