Soda gal if in general terms. If we are ordering, we say what we order - Diet Coke, Coke, Root Beer, etc. If they don't have Coke, most places ask if Pepsi is ok, lol!?

Pepsi is NEVER okay lol (says the wife of the Coca Cola guy)

growing up it was POP, I'm from the midwest, now it's soda here on the west coast...but I definately prefer Coke and hate it when the waiiter replys "is Pepsi ok?" Are they kidding!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like 'soda' is more of a California thing than a general west coast thing. It's 'pop' here in northeastern Oregon.

I grew up drinking only Pepsi products because a family member owned the local Pepsi bottling company and we weren't ever even allowed to say the "C" word in his presence LOL. I much prefer coke these days.

This is so funny! My husband works for Coca Cola and Pepsi is like a curse word in our home! lol The rivalry is real!!

I have always said pop but I have friends from around the country that call it soda so I have caught myself reverting to their lingo on occasion.

My uncle worked for Pepsi for years...Coke is the four letter word in our family. LOL!

We don't use the word pop...we say soda unless we are specifically ordering a kind...Pepsi, Root Beer, Diet Pepsi, Sprite, etc.

I gave up soda last April...no more Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi for this girl.

In New Zealand we never say soda. Most people seem to call it "fizz" or "fizzy drinks" (as in a notice from school that says "bring water or juice but no fizzy drinks", or "just get me a fizzy drink from the store"). Which probably sounds very juvenile and amusing to foreigners!

Pop! I always thought this was a Canadian thing, but I'm starting to think that maybe it's a midwestern North American thing!
We called it pop in Montana. Now I live in the South and it's soda.
