So, I love fresh vegetables and fruits but I can't grow them for anything!

Do you garden? herbs? full on garden?

Do you enjoy the fruits of your labors? Do you sell/trade veges or fruits?

I am fascinated by people who grow their own food b/c I wanna be one. Sadly, it's just not happening here (yet).

Bonus points for photos :)

Oh yes! I grow veggies and belong to a CSA. Today was a sad day - last day for the CSA, I cleared out my veggie beds and planted my garlic. That means winter is right around the corner!

Garden photos are very sporatic in my instagram feed. :)

I would love to, and I have tried, but have had very little luck. I can grow all kinds of flowers, but veggies and such just do not grow. The only thing I've had any kind of luck with is jalapenos.
This is a really old photo (like 15 years old) of my patch of peppers

I have a brown thumb. I wish I could grow things. I've tried plants, flowers, veggies, and so many have failed. DH is much better than me, but with work and life, there just isn't enough time. We visit the Farmer's Markets around us... there are loads. At least it's super fresh!

Nope, this girl does none of the above cuz I'm all about saving my precious time and keeping my life simple. So I buy any all from the market, farmers market and vegetable stands.

Nope, nope and nope. I detest anything to do with a yard right now. Hence Arizona's "desert landscaping". (Rock and cactus.... that's it.)

Absolutely love gardening here and especially vegetables and fruit. A plant has to be productive to last in my garden. We are now in spring and I have beans (4 varieties), snow peas, spaghetti squash, eggplant, lebanese cucumber, lettuces (about 5 varieties), corn, beetroot (white, red and orange), kale, silverbeet (rainbow variety so lots of colour), coriander, celery, egg plant, sweet potato, potatoes (3 varieties) and tomatoes.
I've probably forgotten a few things and we also have a lot of herbs as well. The best part of gardening is that you can grow varieties of vegetable that are not available in stores. Absolute fun!!
We are in the sub tropics so summer is the time we rest as nothing really survives the heat. Vegetables all year round except for the hottest time in summer.

i do ... but i'm very low key about it. and i admit i have no skillz. i use boxes and dump really good organic stuff (a good mix of different type of composts/manure) into boxes and what ever grows grows. this is my method ... it's basically gardening for dummies.

One of the books has to be Mel Bartholomew's "Square Foot Gardening", the original version of which is said to be the best-selling gardening book of all time. But classic though it is, I recommend that people instead get the revised edition that Mel produced in 2006 called "All New Square Foot Gardening"; it has even more information than the original, in a more condensed, readable and approachable form. (Although many people fixate on Mel's system of growing inside geometric grids, the real benefit of his technique is rooted in his emphasis on building raised beds and excavating your rotten local soil and replacing it with "Mel's mix"—essentially a combination of a light soil free mix and high-quality compost.)

and it works. and is very easy.

that is impressive!!!

No garden here. I don't even have a balcony. Plus I don't have green thumbs.
I'm all for homegrown and organic and stuff, even better if someone else does it for me. ;)

We grow corn, beans, lettuce, blueberries, raspberries, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, cucumbers, peppers (when they cooperate), pumpkins, potatoes, and tomatoes. I like the planning part, but the weeding I can do without. I also don't really like picking anything but berries because I'm horribly afraid to run across a spider. We also have concord grapes that grow without provocation. Sometimes we use them. I love the idea of all of it. And it is nice to have those things from the yard. It can get overwhelming if you don't keep on top of it though, so we try to not go too crazy.

I did, in Brasil, we had an amazing , huge front & back garden...have everything, even a HUGE avocado tree...we ate from our garden.... now in London I have a little balcony kind of thing...not big enough, so sometimes I make a herb window sill box....but will only work in summer. I miss so much having a garden and living in a softer warmer weather :(

oh lord ... I'm dreadful with gardening!! And, I've managed to train (unintentionally) my dogs to love fruits and vegetables. I'm sure if I was successful, they and the squirrels would find a way to destroy it/eat before I got to it!
