Back in the spring I posted about our granddaughter having a pretty severe seizure that they ruled as Febrile ... shortly after she had another so she was seen by a Pediatric Neurologist and thankfully, they found nothing to be alarmed at and assured our son and DIL it was indeed a Febrile seizure due to the spike in her temp.
Well - Friday she had another spell. Around noon her little cheeks got beat red and they gave her Tylenol and put her in a bath to bring her temp down (it was 105 under her arm!!!)
. Her temp dropped - and she was starting to get back to being her normal self - no signs of sickness at all - when all at once she vomited and her skin tone turned grey and she wasn't responsive (no actual seizing of her body...) but she just started straight ahead and didn't move. That lasted nearly 5 minutes and then it took another hour for her to "come around" fully. Shortly after the hour though, she was fine, just like nothing had happened.
They took her to their pediatrician yesterday and was advised to see a Pediatric Immunologist in Chicago or Madison WI. They need to get to the bottom of the reason that her fever spikes SO quickly and SO high.
Bless her little heart - she will turn 2 on the 29th of the month and my heart actually hurts when I think about what her future might hold. What they might find ... I was really hoping she had ear infection or something ... but there were no signs of anything like that.
Would appreciate prayers from the prayer warriors ... Thank you so much!!
PS I remember a friend telling me that once you had grandbabies you have a whole new set of things to fret about ... I'd say it's true! And now we have a new grandson as well (just turned 2 months ...) I'm not sure my old ticker can handle the stress -- even though I know this is so minor compared to what others go through ...
