According to the book Conversation Starters... Haruki Murakami, Toni Morrison, and Benjamin Franklin found they wrote best during the early dawn (around 5 am :yawn). Charles Bukowski, on the other hand, usually composed his poems around noon.

What time of the day are you most effective?

late at night.... VERY late...during what we call the "madrugada" in Portuguese & Spanish...which would be between midnight and 5 am ..... that may have to do with the fact that I was a performer and worked nights that would end not earlier than 4 or 5am....

the morning is tricky for me- because of the frybro, arthritis & osteoarthritis, heart condition, bones full of metal holding them into place, nerve damage and a longer list of conditions you would care to know LOL plus insomnia! - I wake up with my body in pain, feeling like I had very little rest, like a train run me over- I take the medication and most takes a couple of hours to kick in...but nights also because here there is a lot of noise during the day , even though is a great area, residential, there is a major hospital within two blocks, and we are very near a trendy part of the city...

so yes, late nights!!!

I am definitely not productive in the morning. LOL. I can barely drag myself out of bed. But at night, I'm finally awake and ready to do something. That is when I did all of my schoolwork... writing, and reading for sure. Scrapping can happen just about anytime when I actually have time to sit and do it.

My most productive time (housework-wise) is the 45 minutes right before my husband gets home. :giggle

Ditto to that! hehe.

Given to my own devices, I would be most effective at night for sure, but not TOO late at night. Between about 6 and 10pm would be ideal for me. HOWEVER, the fam gets demanding then, so in reality I tend to get things done "in snippets" throughout the day. All depending on everyone's schedules.

And definitely depending on when DH is coming home, Kimberlee.

Early morning, definitely! Coffee, quiet, and my thoughts. Once everyone wakes up, it's over for me :/

Absolutely first thing and preferably after coffee but before I get sidetrack with people...or life. Once I break my stride while working, I am done for the day pretty much!

You all must be early risers. Our day around here starts about 5:45-6 am. If I wanted time alone, I'd have to get up at 4:30-5am (taking into consideration the obligatory coffee drinking)... not happening, hehe. I've always been a night owl, though. Would rather just keep going than get going.

My alarm goes off at 4. I drag myself around until about 10am, and 2 pots of coffee later (I share at least one pot ;) ) then I can get really into my work until about 3. Then nothing for the rest of the day. Haha.

Housework is hit or miss. Sometimes I can get a big chunk of it done during a really productive break at work (I work from home often - almost always), sometimes immediately after dinner.... or not at all. ;)

I am not a morning person because I work until midnight most evenings ... so my best time is probably anytime after 10AM.

after 10 pm til late -- ask Cynthia she caught me a few times this week and it was morning where she is across the pond.

I used to be a night owl thanks to working 3-11pm but now I'm most effective from about 10am to 3 or 4pm

i'm productive usually btwn 11am and 6pm - and half of that time is spent in the car and prepping dinner, and the rest is spent frantically cleaning and getting through my 'to-do' list for the day... i'm not a morning person but i'm a nightowl in summer and although there is technically the same amount of hours in the day then, i feel like i always get more done in the warmer months

I'm more mid day to evening. Mostly because I'm a night owl... forced to be an early riser. So... middle of the afternoon!

I'm most productive with everyone out of my face (ha!) so from kids' bedtime (8-9) until my bedtime (midnight - 1 am). Since the kids are sleeping, can't do any housework, etc. Dang! Too bad!! :giggle

The baby still wakes up at night, though, so that time is often cut short.

This is why I have scrapped fewer pages this year than I have in my entire 12 year history. Dumb babies. :hissy

This for sure! But I am also a bit of a night owl.
