Yeah, I am in planning with my best friend (mom of bride), the precious Rachel (soon to be DIL) and my son (who just smiles and says if Rachel wants that, lets do it). They have chosen Pink and Gray My hubs and I did burgundy and gray. Mainly for ease, of my matron of honor that was 6 months pregnant...and was making a dress at the time of engagement. lol I love the multicolor weddings I see now, where the bridesmaids all wear a different hue or color.. I would do red and turquoise if I got married now...lol So now I am curious, what were your colors or what colors would you want if you haven't tied the knot, or could redo it?
i got married at city hall - so no colors for me if i were to do it again - and actually have a wedding - i would want navy and pink i think ...
I had royal blue with pink accents. My brother's wedding was a wine colour, my one niece was brown with pink and mint accents and her sister was black and white.
I had sky blue and light purple bits. My bridesmaids all wore the sky blue color, but got to pick whatever dress they wanted and they all wanted something different. I loved it and they were happy they got to wear something they were comfortable with.
I didn't really have strict colors, but I kinda stuck to a citrus fruit theme. I told the two bridesmaids to pick anything green, yellow, or orange and just run it by me first. They both picked light green dresses.
This is exciting Anne! Have they set a date? Had we gotten married in spring or summer, I would have went with very vibrant colors, but as it was he proposed in September and I just wanted to be married so we set a date in December. I went with cream, various shades of dark green and eggplant. Wintry, but not Christmas-y. My sister, my maid of honor, wore an eggplant color dress - I didn't have other bridesmaids.
Dark lavender As I was going through a 'mad about the Provence' stage so that's where that came from Congrats on your son's engagement!
Our colors were navy and pink. I still think the pictures look great with those colors - timeless. Best wishes on your son's upcoming wedding Anne! So exciting to go through the planning process with them, I'm sure!
Our colors were sage green and peach- totally late 90s colors! I am glad that we were past the deep hunter green stage at least!
I had pink and something (can't remember, it's been 48 years). My aunt found a turquoise dress with daisies at the bottom (for a November wedding) so that's what my matron of honor wore. It was pretty much a mishmash. My younger daughter did something different. She wore a blush pink gown and everyone else wore black. She has fabulous photos.
Dark green and cream for me - the bridemaids dresses were strapless, deep green, almost black they were so dark but still look good - wish the same could be said for hairstyles, very 90's. Have fun with the planning!
We were married in 1981 - (seems like a million years ago). The bridesmaids wore matching dresses in pastel colors - lavender, yellow, blue and soft orange and the gents wore gray tuxes.
We had a periwinkle color (like a hydrangea, less purple, more blue) - for April... and because I thought they would look nice with the cherry blossoms for pictures, lol! I loved the color. Still do.
Burgundy and whatever. It was a small wedding, just one bridesmaid, so I just told her to wear the bridesmaid dress she already had from a wedding a couple months earlier. It happened to be burgundy. So we put a burgundy tie on her then-boyfriend (now husband) and he was best man and that was that.
I used pansies as my wedding flowers (yes, pansies!), so my wedding colors were anything you could find in pansies, heavy on the purple. My bridesmaids could choose any dress they wanted from within the pansy color family, and since my wedding was in late April we were able to shop the "after prom" sales and get some steals. It was a mishmash, but it worked! And, my wedding dress? A $69 white linen sleeveless sheath from Banana Republic.
Congratulations Anne!!! Such an exciting time! Our invitations were grass green and with white. Maid of honor wore a black dress. Centerpieces were tall crystal with a Casablanca lily... I think it totally depends on time of year too...
