MOC-Helpful HInts from Alumni!

i'm thinking i'll give this a go, although i generally spend january reading in front of the air-con - thanks for the organisation tips, i'm not expecting to do all 31 but it should put a good dent in my 'to be scrapped' EHD of photos

Justine I feel your pain ... we are melting here today and I am sticking to my keyboard lol

Thanks so much for the tips, Anne and Ladies! I'm still thinking about giving it a go.

This is a question that I've had forever! How do you judge % of products used? How much covers the page? How many items used? I'm never sure. Thanks!! :)

Basically it is the product you use from my understanding.. 75 % of the product on your page needs to be TLP designers. Some use a few items from another store so just make sure when you are creating most of the elements/papers are TLP designers

I seriously woke up the other night and thought of this!
If you use a template it is 15% of your page
then you are left with 10% of Other things...
so if you use 20 other things,
2 can be other than TLP
If you use 100 things, then 10, can be from other than TLP

and if you don't use a template just use no more than a 1/4 of other than TLP products. My brain woke up and thought PIZZA
if there are 16 slices, 4 of them can be from another pizzeria.

oh my brain goes places way to quick and I just babble them out here..bhahahahha

luckily we don't have to do slopes, intercepts, square roots or take radius times pi!

hey!! I made it thru all 31 challenges last year and was able to complete the monthly 7 challenges too

Wait, so in addition to the 31 MOC, there are still the 7 monthly challenges in Jan? So a possibility of 38 challenges in one month?!?! woah....not sure I can wrap my head around all of that!!! Amazing accomplishment Anne!

I love your notecards, Anne! I should do something like that--it would totally help me stay organized.

i started doing something similar too, and it really does help keep on track. in the back of my planner i added a 'keep track' tab, and there's a list of pages i need to get done. then i can X them off when i've finished... it's a great visual of open items, and it helps me stay focused... i tend to need a lot of help in that department!! :giggle

and!!! now there are more
the Polly Pick and Trend Watch that fall every two weeks, and you can win $5 gift certificates to the store...so 41 can be done in one month..........
and........
many of the designers here have more going challenges on their blog, that come with free templates and prizes.
I tell you this place pours mojo possibilities all over you!!

I think my goal for today is going to be to go through 2013 photos and decide what needs to be scrapped and that can be my 'to-do' list for MOC and then maybe make it my goal for 2014 to keep up with this type of system.

I am loving the challenges and I'm seeing my mojo return! My last serious scrapping was done at last years MOC!! I had a bad fall in the snow and ended up in a knee brace, it took a good few months to heal to the point I could sit at my PC and by then I'd got hooked to my kindle.

My advice - don't play in the snow, I threw one snowball and ended up at the hospital! LOL
