So confess I've never been terribly gifted in the "personal style" department. And so I don't have many adornments..I just don't know how to choose them or what looks right with what outfits, etc. So I tend to stay really simple, classic, silver.

And I've never really had a place to store anything. I'm one of those "keep the boxes they came in and stick those in a drawer" people. :blush

But I'm starting to get a little more adventurous. And recently I've been gifted a couple gorgeous out-of-my-personal-box necklaces. And I've come to realize that I need a proper place to store the jewelry I do have.

How do you store yours? Jewelry box? Some kind of hanging apparatus?

Would you mind sharing photos? Guide an ignoramus?

Please and thank you.

My necklaces are on one of these:

Everything else is just chucked in a box on a shelf. :giggle

Oooh it's linked! A "twigsy"! How cute is that?! That's neat!

It's hanging in my bathroom. I go back and forth between hating how cluttered it looks, and loving that I can look at my pretties all the time.

I have a jewelry box that an old boyfriend gave me a million years ago. I honestly never open the thing up though. I wear my wedding set and that is it. I am now allergic to 14 k gold earrings and don't wear my necklace because I'm afraid the boys will pull on it and break it.

The jewellery box my DH gave me for Christmas the year we were married has two swing out compartments on either side that leave space to hang necklaces and bracelets. It's perfect! And I love it!

It kind of looks like this:

I have a standing tree that I hang necklaces and dangly earrings on. Except it's getting kind of full...

You will laugh but I use two of those cheap plastic boxes with the little sections that I got at Michaels. I think it is supposed to hold embroidery floss or something. They are cheap and keep things organized. I don't have that much jewelry though. Mostly earrings. I wanted to get a real jewelry box but they are expensive and didn't have enough sections for all of my earring.

I started making my own jewelry about five years ago, so I have a TON. I found the coolest way to store mine a few years ago. It looks like a picture frame, but the "door" swings open to show a bunch of hooks to hang jewelry from. I will say that storing your jewelry out in the open will make it tarnish (especially silver) WAY faster than in a jewelry box.

This is like the one I have and I LOVE it! :)

I have a little set of hooks on the wall in my closet. I love being able to see everything hanging there!

This is awesome! Now I want it! Darn. Do you know where they sell it?

I use the two top drawers of a dresser/tv stand in my bedroom. I have the containers that are divided...you buy different ones and put them in to fit the drawer. I almost bought the velvety ones, but ended up with the clear plastic ones because they were cheaper! :)

I like to keep everything put away, because they've gotten ruined from the moisture in the bathroom when I had them hanging in there. I do have some jewelry in a jewelry box...but it's mostly sterling silver and the box has a silver keeper lining that helps things stay looking pretty good.

I have/had SOOOO much jewelry. It's sick really. I guess that comes with working 6 years at a Brighton store. A lot of it was gifted to me from the store, I got everything else at 50% off, so I just ended up with so much. I've sold over $2000 worth online since I quit a few months ago, and I just grabbed a bunch more that I'm sure I'm never going to wear again and took pics. I'll be listing those on eBay tonight! I still have enough jewelry to fill those boxes in my drawers too!

I think for necklaces, having them hanging on something in a place that is free of moisture is the easiest way to see them and to choose which one you want to wear. As for how to achieve that...I'm not sure yet! :)

I have this carousel thing. I have more of an earring problem than anything else, but there are hooks on top, in the center, that I hang necklaces on and they hang in the middle. I throw bracelets and rings in the bottom tray. Tom got it on Etsy for me last year for Christmas, I think? It's better than my old "toss them in a jewelry box" idea.

I hang bigger/longer necklaces (and scarves, as you can see) on those arms that hold my dresser mirror up. Drives Tom a little nuts, but I like seeing my things.

I made some of these for my jewelry last year and I love them!
(Thanks to Pinterest).

There are some serious pretties in this thread!! Thank you so much for all the ideas!!

I have carousels that are very similar to what Peppermint has, except that they don't have as many earring holes and have hooks for necklaces instead. I got them at TJ Maxx and I LOVE them. I also made an earring hanger for studs by taking a pretty picture frame, removing the glass and replacing the glass with mesh. For my rings, pins, earrings that don't hang easily, cufflinks, etc, I have a jewelry divider with lots of little "cubbies" that I put in a drawer (so I just have to pull open the drawer and there they are. I used to keep all of my jewelry in boxes, but I find that since I started hanging where I have easy access when I'm getting ready I wear jewelry more often and vary my pieces a lot more.

my daughter has a lot of long necklaces and so we are going to do a simple black rod with hooks on it and hang in in her room, like art

I have a really cheesy broken jewelry case that Chris bought me like 5 or 6 years ago and then proceeded to break one of the glass windows by accident. It hangs necklaces and bracelets and then has drawers for rings and earrings. It works for me because I also have no personal style - well, at least I don't spend money on my own style LOL. I am too busy buying stuff for the kiddos and scrapping stuff to worry about how I look. :)
