Random Question. Jewelry Storage. Who, What, When Where How...

I keep 'real' jewellery in a jewellery box with compartments but for costume jewellery I'd prefer to keep them outside where I can view them easily. I pinned some ideas I'd like to try here http://pinterest.com/the3chickens/home-organisation-jewellery-etc/

I don't know why I didn't even think to peruse pinterest! There are some really fabulous ideas!

In general I'm so torn because all of these look SO fantastic and then my "must.have.uncluttered.spaces." and "we move far too regularly" instinct kicks in and says anything that displays is "too much".

I am such a wet noodle. LOL!

I generally am a nut for uncluttered spaces too, so the solution that worked for me was to put my jewelry carousels on a shelf in my closet (a tiny extra room we converted into a walk- in closet with a free-standing clothes rack and doorless IKEA wardrobes). That way the jewelry is visible and accessible while I'm getting dressed, but it's also hidden from guests and not cluttering my bedroom dresser.

I'm with Debra, have the velvet lined divided trays in my dresser. That was part of my dresser purchase this year, having the top drawers felt lines. So my big dresser has felt lined drawers with the divided trays filling up the space. The larger necklace pieces lay on the felt back behind the trays. I have the stuff that's not worn as much in another tray in the second drawer.

Being able to walk out in the morning and pull open those drawers to choose things makes me smile every day!

When my DD was at home and in High School, she would wear alot of different kind of jewlery. Instead of putting them in plastic drawers DH bought a tie rack and added it to the bathroom for her. All her necklaces and rings, earrings would hang on that. Its keeps things uncluttered too.
As for my jewlery I have my earring in a jewlery box and I have my necklaces hanging up, something like Brandi has :) But Im looking for something a little different for rings though. I will keep watching this post and see if anyone has a idea for that ;)

I have this from IKEA and a couple of vintage crystal bowls.

DD decided I needed something to put my bling in, so cut a cereal box in half for me. Noice!
