What was yours?

I had a paper route, but my first ACTUAL job was at Stroh's Ice Cream. And we weren't allowed to have free ice cream. Or even a discount. What kind of crap is that? :rofl

Working at the pediatrician's office at the base hospital when we lived in Germany. It was fun and I got to hold lotsa babies. I hated the part where I had to hold a baby's leg so the doctor could give 'em their shots.

I was a 15 year old handing out money at an employee credit union. (Thanks, Daddy!) He even fixed it so my boss came to high school and picked me up every day!

I worked at a musical instrument repair shop for my first real job.. boss was a skeever, but otherwise decent job seeing I was.. a musician and intended on going to college for music.

Apart from the paper round that I used to have a dirty bloke flash his bits at me (traumatic when ya only 12/13) my first job was in an old people's home

Well, it was pretty much the same I do nowadays!! My first job was in an Advertising agency as Art Director's assistant. :D

Other than babysitting, my first real job was at McDonald's. I actually loved it too. At first we got free food, then we had to pay half price or something like that.

deli at a gas station.
:thumbsdowns

never again working with fried foods. lol
Oh and we got no free stuff or discounts.
Instead we squirreled away food we wanted and then snuck it out back during break.

Mine was as a bagger and drive up girl at HyVee grocery store. I worked there for several years. I started at 15. When I was 16, I got to be a checker, then a couple years later I was customer service. I quit after my first year of college.

My first job was filing at the car dealership where my mom worked. It was soooooo boring!

I worked the Steak 'n' Shake (fast food) drive through when I was 16. Shudder.

Drive through meant doing all the crap jobs no one else wanted to do like prep salads, clean up messes, etc. and since I was little and quiet and terrified most of the time, I had to beg and beg for people to let me have one 10 minute break on my whole 6 hour shift just so I could pee.

On the upside, I lost 20 lbs. that summer before my junior year of high school and looked amazing in my school pics! :giggle

I had a paper route as well when I was young... but when I was 16 I got a job at a local fast food place. Kinda gross, but fabulous crowd of friends, we always had a great time.

I worked in a theme park, which might sound fun but it wasn't. I only worked there for one summer, that was enough :lol

I started working for my parents when I was 14 or so, answering the phone, filing, etc. And then the summer when I was 16 I got a job doing the lunch time shift at a deli/smokehouse around the corner from our house. I loved it...2 hours a day, I got paid $4 an hour (min wage was 3.35) and I got free lunch everyday. The best part was the pulled pork there was awesome, and the second best part was I didn't actually have to cook anything. Just slice veggies and meat and put together sandwiches, and my boss was super nice, which helps.

My first job was working in a local bakery...freshly baked bread, cakes and donuts! Loved looking after the donut machine and eating all the dregs of batter that didn't quite make a whole donut!!

I did babysitting and would help my dad at the small department store he managed when he was short-handed. My first regular job was in the kitchen of a retirement center. I worked there for about two years in high school. It was hard work and very... um... character building. :giggle
