one thing you would like to know

If a new technology or some kind of magic could accurately tell you ONE thing about yourself, life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know? Serious or lighthearted responses are equally valid.

I would want to find out how I got started writing in that ugly little green diary I acquired in 1980 that kicked off my extraordinary documentation of my life (diaries, journals, planners, scrapbooks, photo albums, blog . . . ) that is greater than ever today. I want to know why I'm so compelled to record my life, or at least how I started. I have no recollection buying or receiving that little green diary. My only memory of writing in it is of at least once crouching on the floor by my nightlight to write in it after bedtime. I was only 8 years old. Nothing referencing the diary is written in it, and I didn't think of asking my mom about it (and now it's too late). Since journaling and documenting my life in general is such a huge thing to me, I'm very curious!

I would like to go back and tell my young self to KEEP a diary. We moved around so much when I was young, saw so many places, met so many people it's all blurring together now I am older. I wish I was more like you Michele and had kept track with diaries and journals.

i've seen this movie, asking for lotto numbers from an almanac probably would cause more space time issues and work correcting things so i'll go with a quick peek at how we're doing climate-wise in like 50 years so i can decide whether it's worth investing in air conditioning the whole house now or it'd be a waste given we're all moving to the moon or Mars - joking (infrastructure creation here is snail's pace and they haven't even got hardware stores on Mars yet so not likely for a few lifetimes)

I would love to know what happened to the most amazing wonderful dog I had about 30 years ago. He just disappeared from our yard one day and we never saw him again. This was in the days before I could plaster his picture all over Facebook in hopes someone had seen him.

Whether diet Coke is as bad as the naysayers contend or if it's just a harmless way to drink water. I'd like to put this to bed once and for all, because seriously...the amount of aspartame they gave rats in the studies would be an astronomical amount in humans compared to what's really in my Elixir of Life and frankly, I'm tired of the stinkin' side eyes from people! (She says as she takes a sip of her morning DC)

Despite having diaries and journals from my childhood, I still wish I could know more about it. I didn't record my life thoroughly back then. Do you journal now, writing about whatever memories you do have, even blurry ones? That's better than nothing. :love

:lol2 Good luck on making this decision!

Aww, I'm sorry!

I love this idea! Not for soda though (which I stopped drinking in 2000) but there's lots of confusion in health science and I'd love to know the definite answer to some of those questions.

Yes, let's make it the truth on all those things. Goodness, you can find someone on both sides of an issue and they all firmly believe what they believe.

I guess I'd like to know the impact I had, the difference me being here made to the world.

I love that you still have this diary! What a treasure, especially as much as you love journaling still today!

Hmmm.... I don't think I'd want to know anything about my own future. I've read too many books and that never ends up the way you think it should. Lol.

I'll go along the lines of @tanteva and want to know what happened to the DB Cooper guy who jumped out of the that plane with ransom money and just disappeared. There have been several people now who have come forward saying they knew who it was and my hubby has watched several documentaries about that and it would be cool to have that mystery solved. Lol.
