I went to the dentist yesterday for a filling and it was quite the experience.

The last filling I did was quite painful so I tried laughing gas this time and that was a big mistake. Sure, I didn’t feel any pain, but I am still dizzy and nauseous 24 hours later. Not worth it.

How often do you go to the dentist?
Have you ever had laughing gas?
How does it make you feel?

How often do you go to the dentist?
When I had dental coverage, I went pretty much 2/year. Now, it's been a bit and I really should schedule a cleaning.

Have you ever had laughing gas?
I used to have it all the time as a kid and even into young adulthood -- funny (not funny) is that dentist I saw as a young adult was later arrested for "taking advantage of" his female patients.

How does it make you feel?
I don't remember any after effects, I just remember that the light they use always turned to some sort of dreamy, creepy clown smile for me.

I go twice a year too because that’s what our plan covers.

That’s crazy your dentist was arrested! I didn’t like not being fully aware of what was going on. I was fine with laughing gas as a kid so I don’t know what’s changed.

I go every 6 months for my cleaning.. I have a really great dentist who both my husband & I have our file marked that he is the only dentist in the practice we see and also our hygienists.. he has one and I have a different one.

My dentist knows how to give a needle and I feel nothing if I have to have a crown or filling.. same with my hubby. He recently had a bridge done with a crown and although numb for a bit.. no pain. I have NEVER had gas.. always Novocain. I guess I was under anesthesia when I got my wisdoms out.. That guy (oral surgeon) was not so good on the shot before the anesthesia as he hit the nerve and part of my tongue was numb for a long time. LOL

Sorry you had issues with the gas. Feel better.

I really don't like going to the dentist. I only go when I'm in pain, which means it's too late...
I try to make regular appointments for the children, and I've just written to book their annual check-ups.
What's more, it's difficult to find dentists. There aren't any left in our town, so we have to go to the neighbouring district. Is it the same where you live when it comes to finding dentists ?

I don't go often enough. I don't like the dentist.
I don't think I've had laughing gas, lol!

How often do you go to the dentist?
A lot more than I'd like to. I tend to build up tartar quickly so I need a cleaning every 3 months. I've only had a few fillings in the last 5 yrs or so but have had a bridge put in and then a revision about 8 yrs later. I hate going to the dentist.

Have you ever had laughing gas? No and don't think I want to b/c waking up from anesthesia is not pleasant so I'll pass on that.

How does it make you feel? I'm always happy to get my cleanings and checks over with but every time the appts approach, I feel apprehensive, I absolutely hate freezing, especially in the front gums. Not sure if I am just a wimp or not but, man, does that hurt. Makes me cry every single time.

I go twice a year for my cleanings...more I guess if I need to get something fixed

Have you ever had laughing gas?
I had laughing gas with my last child

How does it make you feel?
I was the worst experience...I felt so claustrophobic. Didn't help at all with the pain, it felt like it made me hyperventilate

It sounds like you have an amazing dentist! If only I could go to yours lol

We have a lot of dentists in every town. We used to go to another city and I'm debating going back because I liked them better but we'll see. I don't like driving far just to go to the dentist. Right now our dentist is 10-15 minutes away.

I used to love dental cleanings but now they take so long I'm starting to not like them either! I definitely don't like fillings.

I'm sorry it makes you cry! I don't really know what a bridge is but it doesn't sound fun.

I started getting claustrophobic too! I thought about tearing the mask off lol

How often do you go to the dentist?
Every six months for cleanings... but I see my dentist everyday (my husband is my dentist) :wub

Have you ever had laughing gas?
Yes, anytime I've had a filling, even as a kid, I get the gas.

How does it make you feel?
It makes me feel a little out of it and floaty, but I enjoy the feeling! And it wears off quickly for me.

I'm glad the gas works well for you!

Have you ever had laughing gas?
No. I've thought about it but my dentist at the time said that it would require a person to drive me home and I didn't want to deal with that.
How does it make you feel?
Well, I've never had laughing gas but I'm pretty stressed by the dentist. Apparently, I have weird nerves and it's really hard to get me numb -- there's a lot of injecting and waiting and testing it out to see if I'm numb (which hurts) and then more injecting.

I’m sorry you have a hard time getting numb; that’s rough! I might be the same way; that’s probably why my dentist wanted me to try the laughing gas. They let me drive home but I sat in the parking lot for a long while deciding if I felt safe enough to drive.

I'm very regular about going to the dentist, every 6 months. (Quite the opposite with doctor visits!) I've never had laughing gas. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

Dentists are a dime a dozen around here! I am so sorry you have a hard time finding one!

How often do you go to the dentist? Twice a year except when I have an issue like in November/December last year. I needed a crown and to fix my veneers, so it was quite a lot of visits. When I was having the initial work done, I chose sedation, where a nurse comes in and monitors. Very nice experience. Most of the work did not require any anesthesia.
Have you ever had laughing gas? No.
How does it make you feel? I don't think I want to know now!
