Seriously the brain fog is real.

I'm stuck in an accomplishing nothing zone. I KNOW I have things to do. I see them. I think about them. But then I get trapped in just blank. Blank documents. Blank papers.

Not even doom scrolling is to blame right now, lol. Even with TV I'm zoning.

I do know I get more like this when I'm just low on connections. Weather isn't helping. But yeah. Chatting here to at least vocalize then it might break the spell.

If you experience this too what do you do to get out of it?

I have myself trained to write things in my planner and then check them off. That helps with some of the blahs and getting me moving. But sometimes I just need to schedule "rot" time and let myself be a potato so I can get myself together again.

Maybe an accountability buddy might help? That will meet both your need for connections and provide exterior motivation.

My brain is currently beyond fog and into pudding mode after 6 hours annotating my kid's IEP (and still not being done).

I’m in the same boat! I have to write down what I want to do. Sometimes I write one at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed. Other times I write a big list and see how many I can get done. Hope this helps!

I agree with others that I try to write down a to-do list. And if I have too much swirling around, I'll do a "brain dump" - just write down all the big and small things I have to do or want to do or am just thinking about.

Exercise really helps me to cut through brain fog too.

I'm feeling the same brain fog, meh feeling. I need to get out and be with people in real life. It's been so hard since moving across country. I have church but that's only once a week. I miss my daily water aerobics friends and haven't found anything to replace that here yet. I did go on a walk with the gal across the street the other day. She's super nice and it was so good to get out in the sun (even with the humidity) and interact with someone before it rained again. It's been raining daily and I need sunshine to help keep me happy.

I usually call one of my sisters and we chat and vent and get it out. I put it on speaker phone and do my chores - sweep the floor, clean the bathrooms while we talk. Just knowing that someone cares and is listening helps a lot. My husband is great and I can talk to him, but he has a short attention span. Plus he goes off to work and has interactions with other people during the day so he wants to veg out when he gets home. Women need other women to interact with and help each other. Even just writing this out has helped me today.

I do agree that exercise helps and getting outside in the sun to exercise is the best for me! Sometimes I like to treat myself to help me get out of a funk. It can be as simple as a bubble bath, or allowing myself to binge watch a few episodes of a favorite show, buying a digital scrapbooking class and working on that, or taking a friend to lunch. Anything to get outta my head and focus on something else.

I hope everyone can get feeling better soon... the blahs and brain fog are the worst!

I haven't been sleeping well the past few nights and really notice an increase in brain fog! I did get out for a walk yesterday which helped.

Yes, sleep or lack there of has a lot to answer for. I know for me when I'm extremely tired, the brain fog gets worse and so does my vertigo

Experiencing it a bit here too, I think here it may be related to the heatwave we had roll in this week, looking forward to it to drop a bit this weekend. When it gets over 105 F, it is just hot. I needed to swing by the grocery store to pick a couple of items that were left out of my pickup order earlier this week. I had intended to do this on the way home from the gym, but just sailed right on by. Trying to get some pages scrapped and just not having any energy to think.

    No tips here, just commiseration.

brain fog team too! I blame it on post covid syndrome and perimenopause, and it's a real thing...

I need to write everything down, I have a few lists on my phone, otherwise I would loose the paper note...
set an alarm on my phone for important stuff and medications too...

Sorry for everyone dealing with brain fog. I usually experience this most when I've over tired and a nap does me wonders! Sometimes I feel guilty "wasting" time on a nap, but sometimes it's completely worth it. I know you have littles though Elisa, so that's probably not an option.

Definitely the heat wave here isn’t helping. Then just knowing I’m behind everywhere & not able to START. This struggle!

Hugs to all of you in the fog!

I have a different type of brain fog. I experience it when there is too many sounds going on around me especially extremely loud sounds. With a loss of hearing in one ear and tinnitus in the other ear, I can't process everything going on so it all becomes a mash of sounds that are extremely annoying and my brain starts to shut down. I had to leave the entertainment after a dinner on my trip last week. When they started warming up their instruments it was extremely loud and my ears actually hurt. I left and went out to the tour bus and sat there. I could still hear the music and several times could actually tell what song they were singing! When the rest of the tour came out and all started talking after the show, the brain fog started. I couldn't handle everything going on. I functioned OK the next day but then had to put up with a DJ for the after dinner entertainment the next night. I felt like a zombie the whole next day on the bus when we were heading home. It took about 24 hours to clear up and me get back to normal.

I've learned what I can handle but there are times I can't avoid it.

Yeah, I was searching that while on the bus on my tablet. I'm not sure what I really need is out there. The bus problem was the driver playing his music (I was 3 seats back) and someone behind me playing their game or looking at videos with sound on and not using ear buds... which was requested at the beginning of the trip. I asked the group leader (a friend of mine) to make another announcement and she did. It got better for about an hour then both started up again. I had ear buds with me in case I wanted to watch videos or listen to music but never did that. They don't block out sounds enough when not being used for their purpose.

Boils down to people not respecting the rules put in place. I was fine on the bus when the rules were followed.

And too many people are too dang entitled today to respect the rules ... :(

If you have an audiologist (?), maybe they can suggest a brand that will meet your needs.
