Happy June! I know that June doesn't look like that for everyone, but I am excited about it looking like that here! I am officially on summer vacation and can't wait to have lots of sun and fun! I've spent the weekend catching up on laundry and things because the weather's been a little cooler than I'd like, but I have my first book downloaded and I'm ready to spend time on my deck. It's also birthday season for us. My daughter's was last week, my oldest son's is this week, and my youngest son's is in a couple of weeks...so lots of celebrating this month as well. Next weekend I'm headed with the oldest and his family to see the Savannah Bananas play baseball and I'm super excited about that. What does your June look like? Any exciting plans??
No exciting plans this month at least as of now. There's two long weekends this month which stifles any sort of rhythm really - one now from 5/31 to 6/2 and the other from 6/27-6/29.
Have fun celebrating all the birthdays Jan! I just barely learned about the Savanna Bananas from my neighbor lol enjoy! June for me will be softball games and swim team for my oldest, cheer for my middle, and tennis for my youngest. I hope we make it to the water park and pool and lake too. It was 90+ degrees here today which is sooooo hot for June!
After a May that was the craziest worst and best of times, I'm ready to relax a bit in June. Since I live in the desert, June is HOT but today was weirdly rainy and cooler. I'm a wimp so I don't usually get in the pool until the pool temp is in the high 80s and the rain isn't helping but I'm ready to get swimming.
Junes is going to get busy. There is the summer concert at 6th form at the end of the month. Before that we have some family events (hubby's aunt turns 80) and I have 2 coming home from uni complete mid-late June with all their stuff. One for the summer and the other is graduating. This week we have an on-line faith art retreat - 1 hour a day. I learnt a lot about myself doing this last year.
It's going to be sort of a slow one for us at work since the financial advisors will be gone from the 12th until the 30th. Might take some time off. Have one graduation party and one dance recital to go to.
Your image looks so inviting Jan; there is nothing better than sun and fun! Enjoy all those Birthday parties! I have a couple family graduation parties, our local festival, and my 40th Class Reunion(Oh boy... that dates me! LOL!). I luv Summer, as it's so full of sun and fun!
At the end of the month I get to attend a yoga festival. This will be my 4th year attending and it is something I look forward to each year. I can't wait. I think this coming weekend we will take the trailer out and go camping which will be fun too.
I'm now beginning my second week of summer vacation. Already I've read a couple of books, and have two more in progress. I've had several great hikes and walks, and doing yoga more often. And I've been enjoying a little cooking every day instead of doing it all on weekends, and I'm making new yummy recipes. Yesterday, I went to the Virginia Renaissance Fair with two of my kids. We have enjoyed it many times over the the last decade and a half, so I was excited to go. But I hadn't been in a few years. Oh my gosh, how it has grown! Parking stretched over a quarter mile away from the entrance and inside the grounds were much more full of tents and shoulder to shoulder crowds. There seemed to be more food and products to buy than demonstrations and shows too, yet the latter is what attracts me. So that was disappointing. I don't have any big plans this summer. I'm just happy to relax. It was a very tough school year. I haven't done any housework yet, but do want to do some spring cleaning . . . eventually.
Yay for summer! That's so awesome that you get to go see the Savannah Bananas! I've seen clips of their dances and shenanigans and it looks like so much fun! We have a whole lot of nothing going on in June which I'm thrilled about. We have a couple low key graduation parties and my hubby is going fishing the whole week next week, so I'm planning some fun art journaling time in my craft room.
This week is CRAZY with my oldest in Theater Camp & both my girls in dance & it's recital week. Every morning theater with a performance Friday, every evening except tomorrow dance with HUGE recital Friday. Emily in 4 dances & Alice in 3. Hopefully they have fun! I do the pics for the studio too, so LONG evenings Thursday & Friday. And graduation week for local schools, so I have a slideshow I'm to help with for one of my senior kiddos I've known since he was 4.
June is my birthday month, so that to look forward to. It is also Father's Day in June, and we'll get together with the extended family for that!
Next weekend, we're going to Orlando for a conference. My mom's birthday is earlier in the week so we're taking her to Pizzeria Uno's (her favorite restaurant) while we're up there and we're taking my husband to a Dragon Ball Z themed restaurant for Father's Day. I'm looking forward to hopefully snuggling some baby gators as part of the conference.
Sometimes no exciting plans is great lol. I enjoy those! We are finally warming up again. Last week was not summer weather at all. Sounds like you have a super busy June. I remember those days very well. Sometimes I really miss them, but sometimes I enjoy having them behind me lol. I hope you get some great relaxing days ahead!
Sounds busy but lots of fun! Enjoy having the kids home!! The retreat sounds wonderful!! You should take the time off! I wish I had taken more off in the past. Enjoy the graduation party and dance recital!! I hit that 40th reunion last year *sigh* Summer is my favorite! Can't wait fo the sun and fun! Hope you have a great one!!
Oooh the yoga festival sounds great!! Enjoy that and the camping!! I can't wait to start reading and doing some hiking...and probably even cooking without feeling rushed! It was a tough year here as well, it felt really heavy. I'm going to get on that spring cleaning at some point as well. Enjoy your whole lot of nothing and your fun week of art journaling!!
Whew! That is a busy week, but sounds fun, too!! Happy Birthday!! Enjoy all the celebrations! I know, right! The first of the year was so slow, but May seemed to go by in a blink! Sounds like an interesting conference if you might get to snuggle baby gators!!
Sounds like lots of fun for many of you all. Unfortunately not so much for me. lol Mostly work as normal for me. The young adults are both working this summer, and we're spread thin on moolah....so no vacays planned at all. Hoping that summer will at least bring some fishing time for us. We'll see.....
It's a very Florida thing. I feel like I'm always snuggling baby gators. I even got to hatch one for my 10th wedding anniversary (in 2023)
