I'm late coming around today because I've been doing all the things I should have done before today hahaha. I start back to work tomorrow and I totally wasn't ready.

Anyway... today is Melon Day and that made me remember that I need to pick up some cantaloupe for lunches/snacks. They are my favorite. I know a lot of people love watermelon, but I am not really a fan.

Do you have a favorite melon?

Dad would get muskmelon at a farmstand, when they were still around. Mom would cut up in cubes, and add cubes of watermelon, in a sterilite rectangle container for andy and me , the watermelon guess kept to melon aroma less.
They were sure fragrant when laying on bench in garage while finishing rippening

We call cantaloupes rockmelon in Aust & I just finished cutting up some for DS's lunchbox. It's not really in season here because it's winter, but we were in the shops at some point in June or July & he commented he missed them and because they're $$ out of season, I was like 'well when you get a job, I'll buy you a rockmelon', like y'know instead of a celebration cake as a congrats. He applied for one place since then & came out of an interview a few weeks back and we asked how he thought it went & his first words were 'easy rockmelon!'
PS. He's had a few (fast food ) shifts & then got COVID last week and had to drop a week's worth-hopefully they put him back on the roster!

Me personally, as long as it's not all honeydew (the green one) I'm happy to eat whatever melon!

Cantaloupe for me. Mom would get one and cut it in half when I was a kid. Dad got half of it and Mom and I split the other half. We only ever had watermelons at the summer family volleyball games.

These days I will buy a container of pre-cut cubes of it at the grocery. At times I will buy the container that has cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew and grapes for the variety. But my preferred melon is cantaloupe.

I like cantaloupe and watermelon (when ripe and sweet) pretty much equally. I can never pick a ripe honeydew, so I stopped buying them years ago. My mom used to cut up a cantaloupe into wedges and serve the wedges with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top ... yum!!!

I'd say I like the orange cantaloupe and watermelon about the same... especially if someone else cuts it up for me! :giggle

I used to do way more shopping at farmstands and produce markets than I do now. I know that fragrance! These days, I'm more likely to pick some up already cut at the grocery store even though they are not as good.

Haha I love "easy rockmelon"! My DS works at Walmart and thought he had Covid a couple of weeks ago and when he told work, they told him he had to come in anyway :/. We tested and he didn't, but they really didn't care at all.

    Fruits are my favorite thing!

I like those containers with the different melons, but I tend to eat all the cataloupe and leave most of the rest haha.

Oooh the cantelouope and ice cream sounds amazing!!

Yep, I'm all for having it already cut!!

I really love all varieties of cantaloupe and watermelon - and I used to think I hated honeydew, but then I had one that was good and boy it was really good. But when they aren't... meh. Is it worth cutting and paying for?!

I don't like watermelon either! Cantaloupe is my favorite.
