Hello! Welcome to Kim Jensen's July Challenge. This month I always get nostalgic when July rolls around. We've entered the "second half of the year", the heat is "at its worst" and I'm getting ready to get my kids ready for school yet again! This year is especially nostalgic for me as I'm getting my second (and last) ready for her last year of high school!

For this month's challenge, the theme is nostalgia. I am making it a journaling challenge, but don't let that scare you! lol. Please journal about something that happened in the past. Please include a photo that represents that moment in time. Bonus if your photo and your moment are more than 25 years ago. *Be sure to include your date to help me know when the memory is from!*

CHALLENGE:
Using Kim Jensen Designs products, create a page that highlights a moment about something that is in the past. Please journal at least 25 words. Please include at least one photo that represents this moment in time.
BONUS: Your journaling & photo are from at least 25 years ago. Don't forget a date!

General Challenge Rules: General Challenge Rules
*Use at least 75% Kim Jensen Designs product (current or retired from TLP) to create your layout meeting the criteria listed above.
*Upload your layout to the Kim Jensen gallery. Please include your credits.
*post your layout to this thread and link to your gallery post.
*Layouts must be new for this challenge and cannot be combined with other challenges.
*All layouts must be posted by 11:59pm Pacific Time, July 31, 2024.

Prizes:
*One layout will be chosen to receive a $10 coupon for Kim Jensen Designs’ shop!
*All other participants will receive a 20% off coupon for Kim Jensen Designs’ shop!
*You may enter multiple layouts to increase your odds of winning the $10 prize, but each scrapper will only receive one coupon.
*As a BONUS, Kim will be giving away an EXTRA $10 coupon from the entries that journal and provide photo from something that was at least 25 years ago.

This was a hard challenge for me -- not so much in creating the layout but in telling the story and the memories it brought back -- smiles and tears. I created it more like an old-style layout with the photo corners and muted colors. For me, it's all about the story and the photo.

Here is mine from 54 years ago, GroovyJan_1970. So way back when. lol
I tried using the BB codes, but no layout showed up here. So I did it the way I
learned of Kim's CT years ago. If anyone can explain the codes to me I would greatly appreciate it.

I created this layout with photos from this past week. They represent the location, the activity, down to the field on the farm where my in-laws lived. Seeing & hearing hay being bailed had my husband & I talking about our pre-1970 memories & stories from our respective parents about this aspect of their lives. If that's not okay with the rules of the challenge, I'll check my father's collection for at least one farm photo I can substitute.

it fits perfectly. highlights a moment in the past and has one picture that represents that memory!
 
@tinkerbell1112, thank you. I wavered in my initial understanding when I saw all the posted layouts with photos obviously from at least a few years ago. Everyone must have chosen older photos for the bonus option. I'm happy to have this layout in my album with only one entry in the challenge.
