Happy National Eyewear Day! Let’s chat about our eyes today.

What color are your eyes?
Do you wear glasses or contacts?
Do you wear eye makeup?

What color are your eyes?
Blue like my parents but only one of my kids got my blue eyes.

Do you wear glasses or contacts?
No but I wear sunglasses any time I’m outside because my eyes are super sensitive to the sun.

Do you wear eye makeup?
Not usually but I will wear mascara on my top eyelashes on rare occasions. I’ve always used the pink and green Maybelline.

What color are your eyes? Blue
Do you wear glasses or contacts? Yep. I have terrible vision and wear glasses or contacts all the time.
Do you wear eye makeup? Rarely. I almost always used to use a little bit of bottom eye-liner but found that most other eye make-up would end up getting my contacts all gunky. I am luck to have long, dark eye-lashes so don't really need mascara anyway.

Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Have worn glasses since I was 2 years old for everything.

Do you wear eye makeup?

Not really, only having sight in one eye it's more difficult to do it myself & to be honest it's just not been something I've been interested in attempting. If others do it then I don't mind having eye make up on but in all fairness I don't wear a tonne of make up normally outside of a tinted moisturiser and maybe some lip gloss or tint.

What color are your eyes? I always thought I had brown eyes but found out 10 years ago that they are actually hazel. I found this online about hazel vs. brown eyes: Like with green and hazel, the difference between hazel and brown eyes can sometimes be hard to see. Hazel eyes might appear light brown from a distance. But closer inspection of hazel eyes shows flecks or bands of another color as well. Brown eyes, on the other hand, are brown throughout the entire iris. It seems that I have the specks in my mainly brown looking eyes. Someone looking at me would think they are brown.

Do you wear glasses or contacts? Glasses for over 30 years. Actually had glasses from the age of 2.5 to 5 to correct a lazy eye then had perfect vision until I was around 19. I then started wearing glasses for distance. In my 30's I had to start wearing them all the time... because I needed bifocals.

Do you wear eye makeup? Not anymore. I stopped when I couldn't get the color on the lids to look the same. For some reason no matter how much I put on one lid, it would never match the darkness of the other lid that I barely put any makeup on. Now, even though I can see without my glasses, I don't see well enough to put on eye makeup.

Lucky you with long, dark eyelashes! I never thought about make up getting contacts gunky.

I’m with you and don’t wear a lot of make up normally either.

I’ve always wondered about the definition of hazel eyes so thanks for sharing that!

It would drive me crazy to have the color on the lids not look the same! No wonder you stopped.

I was expecting more brown eyes to comment but you’re the first so far. Now I’m curious which eye color is most common.

What color are your eyes? my eyes are hazel- they look light green or sometimes light brown/tan

Do you wear glasses or contacts?
yes, I have worn glasses since 1st grade in 1981. I started wearing contacts when I was in 8th grade (in 1988), but I don't wear them very often as I have pretty bad vision+atigmatism and need daily disposable lenses, which makes them kinda expensive.

Do you wear eye makeup?
I just got some Tarte Maneater mascara which I quite like, but usually just smear a bit of my blush on my eyelids in an attempt to be quick when applying makeup! (my blush right now is a liquid one from Rare Beauty, in the pink/peach shade called Worth)

My eyes are blue. My husband's are brown and we have 2 blue eyed kids and 1 with his brown eyes.

I got my first glasses, for reading, at the very end of 2021 (age 50). I only wore them for reading paper books for about the first year. I probably would have used them for ebooks too, had I been reading them, but I was so pleased to finally stop having eye fatigue with paper books that I've been on a paper book exclusive trend that still hasn't ended.

Then, I started wearing my glasses also for playing phone games or reading Facebook on my phone for longer than 15 minutes. In recent months, I've started using them sometimes for reading/writing on my computer.

Am I needing them more and more because my eyes continue to worsen regardless of glasses use, or are my eyes getting used to the glasses so their decline is kind of the fault of wearing glasses? My eyesight definitely varies depending on the time of day, how long I use my glasses, etc. I can read decently well without my glasses still. The glasses just make everything sharp and my eyes don't get tired.

I haven't tried contacts but based on the difficulty I've had with eye drops and how freaked out my eyes act if only speck of dust blows into them, I'm guessing contacts would be a very difficult option for me. Maybe impossible. My mom tried contacts and said she simply could not tolerate them. She wore glasses most of her life (starting at age 12, all the way to the end). Also, I might need bifocals someday because my distance vision could also be weakening. It's never an issue -- I just need to be closer to like freeway signs than I used to have to be for them to be sharp -- but it's something I've noticed. And can we do bifocals with contacts? I'm probably going to get around to visiting the eye doctor again by the end of this year.

I don't wear any kind of makeup.

My eyes are blue green and change colored with my moods ..sometimes more green otjers more blue

And I use to wear glasses as a child but had kids and my eye sight got better where I don't need them anymore

And I wear little makeup.. maybe little eye liner and eye shadow that's all

I love the explanation of your hazel eyes. It's amazing to me how much eye colors can vary, especially hazel eyes!

Great idea to use your blush for eye makeup! I'm all about quick.

I'm glad to hear your glasses have helped with eye fatigue. My eyesight is decent but definitely not great so I'm guessing glasses are in my future.

Do you wear glasses or contacts? Glasses since I was 10 y.o. or so

Do you wear eye makeup? Not in years, and when I did it was just mascara and a bit of blue eye shadow. I did go through a red lipstick phase in middle school ... seemed like all of the girls were wearing it.

I’m having fun learning how long everyone has been wearing glasses.

I love that you went through a red lipstick phase. I have small lips so I’ve never been a lipstick fan; chapstick only.

Do you wear glasses or contacts? Glasses (since I was 9), bifocals for about 15 years now.. I used to wear contacts, not anymore.
Do you wear eye makeup? I wear makeup only when I go out or on vacation ... generally my eyes are more sensitive now that I am older and so I try not to if I am not going anywhere special.

What color are your eyes? Green

Do you wear glasses or contacts? I started wearing glasses at about 3 or 4 years old. I had a lazy eye and bad astigmatism. I switched to contact in 8th grade which was awesome. Then after I had my babies I had lasik and didn't need glasses or contacts. Now my eyes have aged, so I need glasses again. Boo! I wish I could still wear contacts, but I just can't stand them on my eyes anymore.

Do you wear eye makeup? I do wear mascara daily, but I stink at eye shadow, so I rarely wear that. I'm a Maybelline pink/green mascara user too! @umyesh

Do you wear glasses or contacts? Yes. Mostly glasses (the older I get, the less I can tolerate contacts )
Do you wear eye makeup? Occasionally. If I'm getting dressed up, I will apply a bit of eyeliner and some mascara.
