I have totally let today get completely away from me and I'm not sure what I really even did lol.
I am 4 days away from summer vacation, so I think I'm just completely burned out on life in general. I am definitely ready for a refresh and recharge!
I am in the process of planning a vacation for later this month, but for the first time in many many many years, we are not going back to the place we always go. I just need to decide on a new place. Other than that, I have no real plans for the summer! I hope to do lots of reading and porch sitting but, I also need to do a purge of my house and work on fixing a few things that we've been putting off. My summer break is a little shorter this year because they are adjusting the calendar to have us out by Memorial Day next year.

Do you have any big plans for the summer? Any traveling?
If you're not heading in to summer, anything exciting coming up for you in next few months?

Good luck with your last week Jan! You can do it!

We don’t have any big plans and I’m kind of bummed about it but hopefully we still have fun. I’m hoping we get in some kayaking and fishing days out on the water.

we don't have any set plans for the summer yet. It depends a lot on whether or not the youngsters get summer jobs. We do have the big - what next for my son who is trying to get an apprenticeship, if he can't then it's off to University in September so we need to plan for that. So I guess our summer is a moving forward summer. We will be seeing extended family at some point. In the mean time we still have a few weeks left of National exams for my teenagers.

No traveling plans for this summer unless you count a day trip to the Fort Wayne Genealogical Library later this month. At least I will be going to a different state! My first real vacation since 2015 is this fall when I'll be taking a motorcoach tour from Ohio to Cape Cod. A college friend is going with me and it will be a blast. I'll be adding another state to my visited list. If my cousins from Florida go to Michigan for a couple weeks in July, I hope to get to see them as well.

Otherwise, just normal day to day stuff happening here.

Good luck surviving your last four days of the school year. Funny school related story... my sister texted a screen shot of a text from her son this morning. He said that his teachers must be done for the year because his first three classes of the morning have no teachers. They didn't show up and couldn't find subs, so he has to go to other classrooms that are hosting 2-3 classes full of kids. :dizzy Must be using up their personal days for the year or something! So crazy!

We don't have any huge plans for traveling this summer. We just had my son's graduation party this past weekend, so that was the big thing for this summer. My hubby and I are taking a short road trip at the end of the month just the two of us, so I'm looking forward to that. Otherwise I'm really just looking forward to doing NOTHING! :giggle

No big plans for the summer. My long time "fellow army wife" that I met back in '75 was suppose to fly out from NM and spend a week with me at the beach (Ocean City, MD). Unfortunately her husband wrecked his car and broke his leg in two places requiring a couple of surgeries and is currently in a rehab facility. So long story short, she's not going to be able to come.

In October I'm doing another Disney "birthday" cruise. This time I booked 11 months in advance (vs. 14 days last fall) and my granddaughter is going with me. We're sailing out of Fort Lauderdale and will be stopping at Disney's new island retreat Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas, along with Nassau, and Disney private island Castaway Cay.

I have no big plans for this summer. I've been on summer break for over a week now and occasionally I remember fondly my Boston trip that I had just finished up at this time last year. It's even more bittersweet because I did miles and miles of walking around Boston a year ago, and right now I'm trying to get rid of some plantar fasciitis by sitting and resting my foot a lot. I've been on one great hike already this summer, but other than that I haven't done any walks/visiting/traveling/adventures. I did start a trial of the Food Revolution Network Whole Life Club after watching their latest seminar over the weekend, though, and I'm watching Planet Vegan, a new series that premiered this week. Kind of mental adventures. :) https://foodrevolution.org/ https://planetvegan.com/

No summer plans for us. My boys will be playing baseball and my daughter, a junior in college, and my son, a senior in HS this year will be training for cross country all summer. Besides that, not much going on. My boys finish up school this week and I'm so glad about that. It's not been an easy school year for my youngest son and I'll just be glad when he is done with Middle School at this point. I'm so not impressed with his school this year. I remember loving middle school and it's so sad to me that he hates it so much. ANYWAY, maybe we will be able to do some day trips to the zoo or the beach.

We are hoping to spend some time at the cabin with our daughter and the grandkids in June and July (sil is studying for a big exam), then in August we will be heading to Ontario to spend time with our younger daughter and her family.

we're not doing a big family trip this summer. all of our kids are college-age and they're all working this summer, so it's just not what it was when they were little. but that's okay, that's life.

we have some projects planned. we need to clean out our sump pump room (i know you're jealous). we also want to tile and repaint our bathroom and paint the exterior wood trim before it gets out of control. we have already added stone to our flower beds and planted a few new trees and such. so yeah, just projects around the house. nothing big really planned.

I watched the FRN summit they just did a few weeks back. but i didn't pay the extra $ to be able to go back and rewatch whenever i wanted. it was really informative, though.
are you plant-based? 2 of the 5 of us would be willing to be plant-based, but it's hard when not everyone is on board.

Yes, I am plant based vegan. Fortunately, I don't have to cook for family anymore. My husband began working from home in the pandemic and I began working full time outside the home and we made a deal that I would do all the kitchen cleaning if he did all the cooking. I cook for myself on weekends and I try to share my food. My husband often says it's good and my youngest of 3 kids will eat some of my tofu dishes when I've freshly made them on weekends, but for the most part we're eating separately. By the way, my kids are 17-23, so they also make most of their own meals too.

Hava, if you need any info from Ancestry before your trip, I have an account there for about 3 more months. Just the basic one, not the World. Let me know anything you need. Also, Newspapers.com has a lot of free days throughout the year if you join their mailing list. The reason I suggest this is because your local paper, whatever the locality, could be on their list, but even if it's not, the advertisements from the era make great scrap papers. Fun, you know?

Thank you but I have subscriptions to both Ancestry and Newspapers.com. Actually, no newspapers from my county are on it but the counties where the ancestors were located are and have been a gold mine. In fact, a brick wall has come down in the last week and a cousin and I have determined that we now know where our great-grandmother who disappeared around 1910 ended up. Deceased in Arizona in 1911. That was the only thing my grandmother wanted to know when she was alive and it only took us 31 years after Grandma's death to find it.

Summer here in Phoenix is miserable so we try to get away as much as possible. We have trips planned to San Diego and Montreal.
