Happy Mother's Day to all our Pad Mothers!! I hope you are being spoiled today!
I went to visit my mom but, other than that, it's been pretty quiet. My oldest is in Czechia with the Army doing some training until the end of the month. I did get to see my DIL and 2 of the grands. My daughter had a bunch of other commitments and I told her I'd see her another time, not to stress about coming by. And my youngest had to work, so I saw him briefly before he went in.

Anyone have any special plans or treats??

It's also Nutty Fudge Day. I prefer my fudge sans nuts but, if you are a nutty fudge lover, you can celebrate that as well :giggle

DH took the kids shopping for me Saturday so I opened those gifts in the morning (candy and Popcorners, my favorites!). Then we went to church at 10:30 and sang a song with the kids for their mothers.

We hung out at home in the afternoon and watched Peanut Butter Falcon, and went to visit my mom and sister in the evening where we played games and ate fruit pies for dessert. Good day!
 
Happy Mother's Day!

I took two of my grandsons, Will and Chase to dinner yesterday to celebrate Will's 29th b'day. My son, who lives on the west coast, sent me a digital photo frame.

My granddaughter took me to dinner Saturday night at one of our favorite local restaurants.
 
We had a busy day for Mother's Day. We did early church (8:00 am), then met my Mother-in-law at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. It was super tasty, so that was good. Then we went to my parents house and ended up doing tons of work for them around their house. Then we went home and I had a little time for painting in the backyard while my hubby watched some baseball and then he made me steak on the grill for dinner. It was a good day.

I too wish I'd known about nutty fudge day! I would have liked to celebrate that too! Funny though I only eat it around the holidays because my MIL makes me some that time of year each year. It's so good!
 
We didn't do anything special for Mother's Day though I did speak to my grandmother briefly via my Aunt (we as a family made the decision a year or so ago to remove her landline as she was ringing people at all hours of the day and night including Police and extended family overseas, we can still contact her through her care facility so we knew it was the right decision based on her current level of cognitive ability which is only going to decline). Closer to home it was a very chilled day as my mum was super fatigued from working on Saturday (she has Long COVID and has done since very late 2022/early 2023) so she spent most of the day in bed resting
 
I watched 8 little ones under the age of 2 in our church nursery in the morning...one of the moms gave ME flowers which I thought was so sweet. Then, I picked up my youngest son (25) and we went to see The Fall Guy...which, as he said, "has something for everyone!" We enjoyed it. Then we went out for dinner. While we were out, my oldest son called and we chatted a bit. My daughter emailed a DoorDash gift card, so that was fun. All in all, a lovely day!

It's so sad when people lose their cognitive ability. We've had a several clients that developed dementia as they aged. One lady used to call every couple of months wanting to change her Last Will and Testament, however she wasn't legally able to do so due to her dementia. So she'd call and I'd chat with her until she forgot why she was calling, tell me that she'd taken up too much of my time, wish me a good day and hang up. She didn't have any family, so I didn't mind chatting with her as I knew she was likely lonely. When she passed I missed her calls. She was in a care facility the last years of her life.

Another lady's daughters ended up having to take her cell phone away. She also was in a care facility, and she too was the nicest person. :(
