Color Challenge Slow Scrap Mon 5/6 at 11AM CST

@BLKinOR I didn't recolor anything for my layout, I choose papers and elements in the matching colours. With black and white with a little blue that wasn't that difficult. And the BYOC collection by Lynn Grieveson and rachel Jefferies was perfect for my chosen colours.

@BLKinOR, I re-colored a few items that I used on my layout. At first, I was a little intimidated at the color palette, but after looking through my stash and knowing I only had to use three of the five colors made it a lot easier than I originally thought it would be. During the chat, many people recommended using BYOC's from July because of the red, white and blue colors typically used. I hope that helps!

Well once I figured how I was going to go about it, I had fun with this one... I am using the new eagle organizing app that allows me to scroll through hundreds of items in the snap of your fingers... So I copied the color swatch to a blank piece of paper, and then started scrolling, throwing everything that worked colorwise onto the page.. .then it was a matter of deciding on a photo, usually this step is first... and then arranging and narrowing down all my choices...

forgot to copy the BB code, then I couldn't see my words... So it is probably going to be here twice!!!

@BLKin OR I just posted mine with how I did it... Lynn has lots of the pink red color... hope that helps... we were referred to check the products list for kits that would work...

I wasn't able to join in much of the festivities...because of personal issues getting in the way...time was not on my side this year...but I liked the color palette here for this challenge...so I thought I'd give it a go...With my life filled with so many difficulties...Having to deal with my grief loss of my dear husband...and my almost dying myself from a terrible fall...and the aftermath...Plus my other health issues & other difficulties...It seems no matter how hard I try...just when I think things might settle...just a little bit...but no why? would that happen?...Now,I'm back to the same really difficult reality again that I was in,back in July, after my husband passed away...I wish I could find some happiness & kept it...if only for awhile & not to have to wonder if I'm gonna make it another month without another financial crisis...Sometimes...It's just too much to bare...This layout is about these feelings...I sure could use a few helping hands...I am wishing this...and...for some better luck, more positivity daily...& less out of control problems to worry about...I just need a break!...and just some good things happening...in general...Thanks for this challenge...Perfect for these feelings & this layout...

@mocamom Now that I've read this post and have been going back and forth to the gallery and store, I'm even more frustrated that I was unable to attend the chat earlier. You've given us a very specific color palette. It seems as if most of those who have posted layouts have found supplies that are close to that palette. Were those papers & elements used as they were sold or recolored in some way? None of the supplies I've seen used appear to have the absence of color variation & texture that happens when I "recolor" objects. What trick or process I'm missing?

Another trip down a rabbit hole....why am I attracted to challenges about what I know so little....

I am working in Affinity 2 on my iPad so I am next going to Angela's post asking for tutorial suggestions and add to that post also. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I hope you are able to get some ideas from the suggestions offered. I'd love to see what you come up with if have time to make a layout!

Here's mine:

The red designed paper has the pinkish color in it. I used all 5 colors.

Ohhhhh what is this app and where do I get it????

I'm loving that y'all are playing along. I know the palette can be a challenge to some of y'all and I'd say you are definitely rising above it and making amazing layouts!

Here's my layout. I believe I used all 5 colors, but I had to do some adjusting on the "peach" paper because it was a bit too peach :) I pulled the colors from the July 2020 BYOC kit that I used (linked in the gallery).

@nemi @Janelle12 @mocamom & @easyeyes4you, thanks for your helpful advice and words of encouragement. I’ll continue to work with this and share my results even if I miss the deadline. Between this frustration and parenting a needy 42 year old, I decided to totally inhabit the world of my next book club book. It gave me another world and I was so eager to finish in less than 24 hours! Aurora by David Koepp if you find you need to escape. Not my usual genre and my husband was rolling his eyes as I read sections aloud. What the heck? It worked. Thanks again.

@mocamom I saved the chat, I was wondering if I could send it to @BLKinOR if that could make her feel more confident (even if we shared the links of products and nothing else so deep I think) since it was a simple chat without 'codes'?

fun challenge, the only thing I did a very slight change is the red wordart, it was a little bit peachy and I tried to let it more red...credits in my gallery!
