My oldest has been obsessed with horchata lately. She loves to drink it when we eat out, and now she’s started making it at home. We haven’t found a great recipe yet, but I’m sure she’ll keep trying.

My go-to drink is always water. I’ve never been a big fan of carbonation, but if I’m going to drink carbonation I prefer cream soda.

How about you? What do you drink most often? What’s your favorite non-carbonated drink? What’s your favorite carbonated drink? Anyone have a great horchata recipe for my daughter to try next? Let me know!

I drink mostly water but also have coffee in the morning and afternoon. I have a Sodastream and sometimes I’ll go through phases of making carbonated water with lime for a while. I’m not much into actual soda though and hardly ever drink it. In the last year I gave up alcohol completely since it really aggravated reflux and rosacea both of which I grapple with. I guess I’m a boring “drinker”. :lol2

My name is Cheryl and I'm addicted to Pepsi. That said I drink way more water than I do Pepsi nowadays. I allow myself two cans of Pepsi per day. I spend the rest of the day sipping on water and easily drink 48+ ounces a day. Sip, sip, sip ...

Time to go refill my Tervis tumbler. :)

I’m sorry about the reflux and rosacea. :-/ The carbonated water and lime sounds refreshing. We have a Sodastream too but have stopped using it.

I’m glad you balance out your Pepsi with water. That’s a good way to still enjoy it. My brother does the same with his Mtn Dew - I think he does a 3:1 water to Dew ratio.

I forgot to say that I loved Pepsi as a kid. I can’t remember the last time I tried it though! Many, many years ago!

I was always a Dr Pepper drinker but after being diagnosed with silent reflux last May, I have only had one can. And, that was because I needed to drink caffeine after a stress test. With the reflux you can't have caffeine or carbonation and I've never been a water drinker. So I started drinking apple juice.

When my cousin stayed with me post surgery, she recommended using Cirkul to get my water in. So I finally got one and have a couple of flavors that I actually like. It is nice because you can make it as flavorful as you want. Right now I'm using a pink lemonade cartridge.

Next to me right now is the Cirkul and a tumbler of apple juice.

I miss my Dr Pepper... I drank it for 49 years! Hard habit to break even though I had decreased the amount I drank per day over the years.

I do drink water throughout the day but probably not as much as I should. I love Dr. Pepper - that's my soda of choice and I get it often but it's not like I have to have one everyday. Every once in while I'll make tea or have Postum at home.
I don't like horchata at all so I'm no help there!

That’s definitely a hard habit to break! I’m sorry about the reflux but glad Cirkul and apple juice are working for you.

Dr. Pepper was always my sister’s drink of choice, and now my second daughter loves it. That’s her drink when we go to movies. :)

Now your user name makes perfect sense!

I myself am either a Diet Coke or Peach Iced Tea fan. Wish I was better at drinking water but I'm not.
I’ve been waiting for a Diet Coke fan. That seems to be very popular! I’ve never liked any diet drinks but I think I like Coke more than Pepsi now that I’m older.

Yeah, it makes sense but it's not what you actually think it is!

I named my first Havanese dog after the drink. His AKC name was Circo Dr Pepper and I called him Pepper. The name came to me when I was going to get him. He was black, I picked up my Dr Pepper to take a drink and my mind went to the fact that the spice pepper was black!

At the time I was in a yahoogroup for the breed and we would have chats. Most of the people used "Hava" which is short for Havanese and their dogs call name so we knew who everybody was. We pretty much knew the dog's names but not the owners! So I became HavaDrPepper. Been almost 24 years I've used this as a screen name at various places. I retired the original screen name I used which was my dog's name when I was a kid with the year we got her.

I mostly just drink water. I stopped drinking soda in 2000 as part of my preparation to get pregnant and never regained interest in it. (I drank Dr. Pepper as a preteen and Coke -- loved cherry Coke -- as a teenager.) I used to be a big juice drinker but in the last decade that gradually and irregularly declined. In the last couple years, the only time I've drunk juice is when there was no fruit as an option in a restaurant. I do still love lemonade but haven't bothered to make it myself and I'm very particular (fresh squeezed!) so I haven't had much of it in recent years. I've never been a coffee drinker and never drank tea until my midwife urged me to in 2006. Since then, I've had it very irregularly and occasionally. In the last year I've been having something called Peppermint Cozy Chai (I believe generically it would be called a mocha chai?) from my favorite cafe, where my favorite drink is called Heartbeet. The Peppermint Cozy Chai is probably self explanatory. The Heartbeet is milk (I always choose soy), beet juice, a sweetener (default is honey but I like to get maple syrup instead), and cinnamon. Offered either hot or cold, I actually enjoy the cold more. Although the hot is prettier because it's frothy and they make a pretty design on top and sprinkle it with cinnamon.

But yes, water is the only regular thing I drink. I carry a 28 oz water bottle with me wherever I go and drink tap water from my house that goes through a little countertop water filter. My current water bottle is a metal one with the plastic "chug" lid from Simple Modern. I dislike the straw models and the flip top models because they're harder to clean. I'm thinking of even switching from the chug lid to their simple screw lid because my newest chug lid is light green and sometimes I find little pieces of black in the spout from the rubber gasket or whatever it's called that prevents leaks.

I am a Coke person- I started out drinking regular Coca-Cola as a teen/young adult but have now transitioned to Coke Zero. I only use the 16 oz bottles, so I can sip a bit then put the lid back on-- as our cat loves to knock everything over and I don't want to have to deal with cleaning up spilled sticky soda! My husband also likes Coke Zero, but he only wants the cans, so we keep both bottles and cans in our garage fridge. I usually have 2 to 2.5 bottles per day. Back in 2009/2010 before Coke Zero came out, I used to really like Pepsi Max, or Diet Dr Pepper Cherry Vanilla, but I don't even know if those are available anymore-- Coke Zero tastes so great to me that I haven't tried any other soda in years!

Other than Coke Zero, I drink water. I have a black metal 60 oz water bottle with a carrying strap that goes to the gym with me for all my workout classes, and I try to finish it at least once and hopefully 1.5 times per day. When I am home or out running errands, I use my 40 oz straw-lid Stanley (in a beautiful crimson red to subtly cheer on my Crimson Tide!) with water-- I try to drink 2 of those on the days I do not go to the gym. I fill both of those bottles up from my fridge water dispenser that is filtered as we have super hard water in my town. Oh- and 2 times a year I have champagne- on New Year's Eve at midnight and on our anniversary in May- but that is usually the only alcohol I drink as I take a couple prescription medications that don't react well to drinking alcohol while taking them.

Back in 1999, when I was pregnant with my oldest, the town we lived in had such bad water that it caused miscarriages and no place in town would serve tap water to anyone who looked at all pregnant-- so at that point we started buying distilled water in these big 5 gallon jugs with a spout that would fit into our fridge-- we would go weekly and get 3 of the jugs refilled. I haven't drunken distilled water in 20ish years but do use it for my iron (for steam) and whenever I pour some into the iron and smell the distilled water, I have vivid memories of those days when we had to lug the huge jugs of water from the car into the house! (That town was Chesapeake, VA-- in southeastern Virginia next to Norfolk and Virginia Beach-- I hope they have solved their water issues in the past 24 years!)

I had to Google Horchata, never heard of it.
Because I am intermittent fasting now, it's only water from 6pm to 1pm.
I do love a cup of tea after my meals though and have cappuccino's when out at a restaurant.
I prefer to drink still water but can do sparkling if I need to sip and savour it when others are drinking wine.

I forgot to say that I loved Pepsi as a kid. I can’t remember the last time I tried it though! Many, many years ago!

My mom drink Pepsi, and her mom drank Coke in those little 6.5 oz green bottles. So I used to switch back and forth until you couldn't find the little green bottles of Coke. I still will drink Coke if Pepsi isn't available. I find Coke to be more acidic than Pepsi, while Pepsi has more sugar ... I like that sugar boost, lol!!!

Super hard to break!!! I've dialed my Pepsi consumption way back, but my doctor still fusses at me about drinking it. Oh well, no one lives forever, lol!!!

I had even cut back from what I used to drink years ago. I once had a clerical job that we sat in a fenced in area in the warehouse to process the paperwork for the items that came in to the receiving dock. Multiple dock doors open all day long during the summer since there was no air conditioning. I worked 2nd shift in the heat of the day. I would drink 6 to 8 cans (72 to 96 oz per day) of DP per shift. Although the DP drinking slowed down during the winter because it was way too cold in there!!! At my last job before retiring, I would drink 2 bottles per day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon... 32 oz since they were 16 oz bottles. I cut back to 1.5 bottles a day when I retired.

I miss my Dr Pepper!

I used to drink lots of Diet Coke, but these days my drink of choice is Snapple no sugar added half tea half lemonade.

I’d love to try your fresh squeezed lemonade and the Heartbeet drink; I’ve never tried a beet drink.
