Yes I entered a neighborhood contest 14 years ago but didn’t win

Yes, it's one of the few Mexican things I eat

Canned or homemade?
Homemade due to food intolerances - I can't have a lot of canned beans so make a no bean kind of Mexican ish chilli

When’s the last time you ate chili?
While I haven't made a traditional chilli for many years now I had a modified version with no beans last week

Canned or homemade? Homemade! I have a couple different recipes I cycle through. I also love the chili from Steak and Shake (chain restaurant), but ours closed a few years ago. Boo!

When’s the last time you ate chili? Probably a couple of weeks ago now. I better put it on the menu next week before it gets too warm outside. I only like it when it's truly winter/cold weather. Lol.

Have you ever entered or won a chili cook off competition? Nope, I've never entered. Our church is having one next weekend, but I'm not planning on entering. We might go just to sample everyone else's chili though.

Chili cook off competitions are somewhat common in the fall where I live. The one I entered was for a church activity.

I have a couple different recipes too but our favorite is called “Tex mex” with ranch and taco seasoning.

Canned or homemade? I buy canned, no beans to make chili dogs.

My "homemade" is made with a spice packet, can of Bush's Homestyle Baked Beans and ground beef. I'm not a fan of kidney beans and I used to make mine with elbow macaroni or kidney on the side ... my family could add one or both to their bowls of chili.

At some point a friend gave me her chili recipe using a can of pork and beans, and I started adding the Bush's to my "homemade" chili. :) When I'm taking chili to a potluck and I will use Bush's Vegetarian Beans for folks who don't eat pork.

I prefer mild as well, otherwise I get heartburn.

Sounds like we all prefer homemade! My kids are weird and probably prefer canned Nalley lol

Kids can be so weird like that :lol I don't think I could stomach any canned chili. IDK why. Same with canned soups. Most people tend to like them, I don't. I think I was so spoiled with all of my mom's homemade soups growing up.

I like some canned chilis and soups but definitely not all.
