Memorial Day Weekend in the USA is the unofficial start of summer (the actual start of summer is the solstice on June 21st).

I'll have to live vicariously through you because, other than removing invasive honeysuckle, I have no plans for the summer.

What about you and your family? Any trips planned, collages to visit, May graduations?

And for out Southern Hemisphere folks, any winter plans or getaways?
 
We have our annual off grid week in Wales booked, other than that no plans. There will probably be day trips etc when the children break up from school for the summer (the end of July here in England).
TJ comes home on the 9th June. Joy has a dance show with school later in June.
 
All 3 of my kids have birthdays in the next 3 weeks, so that will take some of our upcoming time.
Chance graduates on June 1 and has college orientation on June 8. He is going to stay at home and go to a University that is about 5 miles from the house. He decided this was his best bang for the buck to get his undergrad degree and then he'll move on for the more advanced degrees. But at least we don't have to do all the college packing, moving, etc. just yet.
My last day of school is June 7.
DS #1 will be traveling with the Army most of the summer...a month in Georgia and then a few weeks in Moldova...so I will be helping with the baby some while he's gone.
We are planning a trip to the beach July 2-9, and may try to sneak in a weekend trip another time.
Other than that, I am going to relax as much as possible and read a lot!!
 
My mum just turned 90 so she and I are going on a cruise to Alaska next week. I've never been and she wanted a cruise where we didn't have to fly anywhere so DH is driving us to Vancouver. We can't wait!

Mid August we are planning to go and visit DH's sister in Ontario and spend a month at the family cottage. Our daughter who lives in Mexico will be there with her family too so we will be able to have some summer fun with the granddaughters.
 
We're going to California in June for Disneyland and Idaho in July for softball. I plan on spending the rest of the summer sleeping in. ;)
 
Chase graduates June 7. He plans on joining his brother in HVAC, first as a helper, then working his way up to head installer.

My son turns 50 in July, but will be in town in a few weeks, so I’m hosting an early birthday party for him.

I’m attending a 3 day crop in July.

I’m also looking at booking a December Disneyland trip soon.

Congratulations to Chance! In so many ways, staying close and saving on tuition fees (staying on campus) is such a smart move! Wishing hime the best.

Georgia the country or Georgia the state? Regardless, wishing him a safe trip overseas!

That such a wonderful skill to have! My brother in law does HVAC...its wonderful having folks with those skills in the family!
 
We are getting a new pool liner in about 3 wks so after that it'll be pool time. Many days will be spent out walking the dogs early morning, around 7ish b/c of the heat. Also, we do a lot of trips to the rivers and lakes with the dogs in the summer. We put the sprinkler on in the backyard, to mist the patio stones, so its comfortable for the dogs to play out there in the heat while I read a book and toss dog toys around for them.

In July, I'll be spending a few days in Kelowna when a friend goes to her summer condo there and then she'll come here for a few days before heading back to Alberta. My oldest daughter will come out at least once or twice for wkend visits from Vancouver.

I'll be doing a lot of research and planning for our upcoming cruise to the Mediterranean in the fall and next wk will see the travel agent about booking a cruise for 2024, probably the British Isles. I like to be prepared so that means many, many hours googling and watching youtube vids for info. I would also like to fit in a visit to Wells Gray Park (lots of waterfalls) soon as I've never seen the falls at peak flow times before.

Summer is also movie time for us. The rest of the year we watch a lot of series but catch up over the summer so it leaves more time for movies. I scour IMDB for reviews and make a list of what I want to see.

Our days are full but relaxed.
 
We have a wonderfully unplanned summer ahead for us. I LOVE an unplanned summer so much! We used to have some many things scheduled for every weekend and I'd get so tired and just want time at home! We tried to schedule a weekend or two for camping this summer, but over Covid so many people who never camped before bought trailers because it was the only vacationing they could do and now it's impossible to even get camping sites. We couldn't find any openings at the campgrounds we wanted to go to until September!

So, we have one weekend visit with my sisters family coming to visit and my hubby has a fishing vacation planned. We have one baseball game planned with our family, but otherwise we can figure out what we want to do each weekend as it comes. Yahoo!

Oh my - so much of what you wrote here sounds heavenly. The walks around 7 are must here too! The sun gets brutal as does humidity.

A Mediterranean cruise sounds lovely!!!

Wow! I did not consider that. I've been looking at camper vans because they look much easier to drive and get around in...but would be years before we bought one.
 
I just got back from my big summer trip! :D As a teacher, my last day before summer vacation was last Thursday and I was heading north to Boston before sunrise Friday morning! It was my first time there and I had a fantastic time walking around the city streets, seeing live street shows at a big marketplace, finding vegan food with ease even at non-vegan restaurants, and looking at historic sites and the beautiful contrast between glass/steel buildings and buildings from long ago.

We do plan to do a whole family short road trip later this summer but haven't planned it yet.

I have a lot of little tasks on my to do list too, that I've been waiting for the summer to do. One thing I intend to do is photograph pages from my high school yearbook and put them in my digital journal. I already did this with all my diaries and journals and I love the idea of digitizing all my memorabilia. I have some old saved letters and school papers I want to put in my journal too. I use Day One, by the way, in case anyone wonders what is an awesome digital journal.

I intend to do more reading and scrapping too! The scrapping in particular has waned quite a bit since MOC. To be honest, hanging out in the forum with my digiscrap friends is what I miss the most when I'm not scrapping nowadays. I'm journaling my life more than ever since it's so easy digitally, but I love doing the challenges and events and just chatting here at TLP. :love

Oh yes! Boston is a fabulous cities - one of my favorites! The markets and the history walks are fun!

So glad you are scrapping more and getting chatty with us in the forums :beat I can only imagine how busy you are during the school season!
 
Summer here in KSA means lots of pool time. We bought a big inflatable pool last year and it's time to bring it out again. I just don't like the cleaning part though lol

Any recommendations for keeping it clean as in molds and stuff? We also bought a cover for it but it still keeps getting molds or whatever you call the green stuff.. moss?? They said to pour chlorine... I have no idea what to buy... I'm useless hahaha :blush
 
No getaways planned here, haven't done any travel since before COVID and even that wasn't all that exciting as I was generally only going away to do in person job interviews. Now that virtual interviews are more common I am doing them that way as it saves me quite a bit of money.
