Snow Much Fun | Pad Patter 2.23.23

Well, it's 80 degrees here today and humid. The A/C is on and has been for a while.

We RARELY get snow and/or ice.

I do have leather gloves for driving when it is very cold, but I haven't used them in years. I did use them a lot 20 years ago when I was working outside the home.
My daughter was complaining yesterday because when it's cold in the summer with our A/C cranking she can go outside and get warm, but now it's cold inside and she can't go outside to warm up! ;)

It's close to 80 degrees here today :dizzy Definitely not a typical winter. But when it is cold I like both, it just depends on what I am doing.
I am looking forward to 80 degrees...okay maybe just 70 haha

We get a lot of snow here, so I have both mittens and gloves (not to mention hats, scarves, winter boots, heavy coat, etc). I prefer mittens.
Yep we have all that winter gear too, except the mittens! The last time I bought mittens was when my kids were little, but I think I want some for myself now.

It's 70 here so flip flops?

Lol! I have gloves no mittens. I use them mostly to walk the dog and that requires fingers!
Yes to 70 and flip flops! Send those my way asap! ;)

It's warm here today but I heard we are having a cold day tomorrow! Both mittens over gloves if it's seriously cold! or just gloves if it's just cold.

Mostly I avoid both mittens and gloves. I prefer wearing my favorite hoodie that's a bit big for me so I pull the sleeves down over my hands and kind of grasp the cuffs in such a way that my fingers are tucked in cozy warm together. I even do this when I wear a coat over the hoodie. I should ask my friend to photograph me doing this. I just realized I've never documented it. Of course, it would be difficult to photograph both of my own hands!

Now, I do have some gloves I store in my coat pocket. They're cheap black knit gloves (probably from Target, but I forget because I bought them several years ago) and they have colorful sequins sewn into them in the shape of peace symbols. Very rarely, I will choose to wear them instead of tucking my hands in my sleeves.

I also own a pair of mittens. They were a gift from my Swedish sister-in-law, so they're nice to have. Mittens are awesome if you're not going to do anything with your hands, but very impractical usually, I find.

Enjoy your warm day! Ours will be Saturday. I need to try mittens over gloves while shoveling.

That's a fun habit to document Michele. I don't like when long sleeves creep up my arms so I appreciate that they build finger holes into the sleeves now to ensure they stay put.

These, for every day use

Best of both worlds :)

If playing on the snow, then waterproof gloves.

Living in Arizona, I don’t really use either. But when I travel, it’s gloves. Mittens are finger prisons. :lol2

Usually gloves ... I have a bunch of those cheap stretchy knit gloves that I keep in my jacket pockets for "just in case." Then I've got driving gloves for driving, and waterproof gloves for shoveling snow, plus I have some thick fleece gloves with "pleather palms" and finger pads. That said, mittens are usually warmer ... I ought to buy myself a pair.

I keep the cheap knit gloves in all my pockets too. And the car. I hate getting caught in a storm and scraping windows without gloves!

These are what I meant by hybrid mitten/gloves. Mine are similar, but waterproof material on the outside with fleece inside for skiing.

I've never seen these in a waterproof style!!! Where do you get them? We have winter like 6+ months a year so that would be awesome lol

I've never seen them in a waterproof style either! Your fuzzy ones remind me of the ones my brother used growing up.

GLOVES- I love the gloves now that let you still use your phone! I keep a warm pair in the pocket of my winter/hockey coat!

Gloves for me, but we have not had one single day this winter that I needed anything on my hands, other than a couple days at Christmas when we lost power with single digits. I really only wear them if I'm outside with kids or shoveling and I have not had to shovel, sweep, or even touch a flake of snow this year. Best winter ever lol!

I still haven't found a pair that actually let me use my phone! Ugh!
