January 4 - Re-scrap a Page

Hello challenge participants and happy new year! Welcome to day 4 of MOC 2023! For this challenge, the focus is on retelling a story, where you will choose a page from your own TLP gallery and re-scrap the photo/s and journaling.

Challenge guidelines:
  1. You must select a page you've previously scrapped from your own TLP gallery that contains at least one photo (referred to as your "original page")
  2. You must re-use at least one photo from your original page (for example, if your original page had 3 photos, you can re-use 1, 2 or all 3 of those photos)
  3. You must include journaling that tells the story of the original photo/s (at least a couple sentences)
    • If your original page didn't include journaling, your new page should tell the story of the original photo/s
    • If your original page did include journaling, tell your story from a new perspective or add details
  4. You must post both your original page and your new page to this thread
Clarifications:
  • You may include additional photos as long as they were taken at the same time as what was used in your original page
  • Templates are ok and there are no limitations on page design or products as long as you conform to the challenge guidelines and rules
Challenge rules:
Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places:
  1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).
  2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.
  3. Posted in this thread (both original and new page). People can comment here if they wish.
Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad).

I used all three of the original photos (I also duplicated one of the photos as the background) and added journaling to tell the backstory behind the photos

QUESTIONS & CLARIFICATIONS:

Question: Can I used additional photos on my page?
Answer: As long as they were taken at the same time as the original photos. The spirit of this challenge is to tell the story of the photos in your original layout by either adding the story behind them or giving more details, so any additional photos should support that intent.

Question:"your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad)" Does this mean the "old" layout has to have 100% Lilypad product? "Regular" challenges, (non-MOC ones) only need 75%, so you could use 25% from other sources for them.
Answer: Your original layout is not subject to the MOC rules as long as it met the gallery requirements at the time it was originally uploaded.

Question: My original photo/s were black and white, can I rescrap them in color?
Answer: You can change the treatment of the photo/s you reuse as long as they are still recognizable as the original photo.

@myka I have a blurb under clarifications in the challenge post that indicates it's fine to add photos as long as they were taken at the same time as the photo/s from the original page :heartlub:heartlub

Yep... I just changed the photo of one taken the same day, my fault, should have read better. Thanks for clarifying. Should be good now.
 
Hi @SeattleSheri,
is the same day OK - I have photos taken during the day and then later on in the day at sunset.
Would they be OK to use?

What a fun challenge! I'm going to re do my first ever layout uploaded here at the Lily pad. Back in April 2013!!!!
