Brought this home from the library last week. But right now I'm reading Book Lovers by Emily Henry. Just started, can't say much about it yet.
Oh, I heard it's her best book. I'm just a couple of chapters in, hardly even started. Will let you know what I think later.
I love this list. I have recently read 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Verity. Both really good. I have put holds on The Push and Thirteen. My library didn't have Blood Cruise. I could get Thank You for Listening with an Audible credit.
I know! It was SO good! It took me a minute to keep straight grandma, mom, daughter, etc. but once I did I could not put it down!
I know this says Jan 2023, but Feb 2023 is a short month, would anyone be interested in reading a poetry book that month?? I know a great poet that has a great book that would be fun to read.... lol @ArmyGrl can vouch for me. but if not, then that's ok too...
You can mostly definitely suggest your book of poetry Kiana! So.. the way this thread works, we all make suggestions until we get 10 books and then the next step is that I will open a voting poll and we will all vote on our top four books to read together for the next four months. So I don't necessarily need to add another month to get us into February... know what I mean? But... definitely link us up to your poetry book here! I think it would also be super cool to have a poetry month and relate it to art journaling here too! @ArmyGrl hint hint!
I finished Book Lovers two days ago and thankfully I was finally able to just sit down on the couch and read for a longer stretch of time and get connected to the characters.
Finished it too. It was quite good I think, once they got past that constant bantering in the beginning. Emily Henry is really good, I must say.
Well then lol, @Karen I will suggest my book : When the Muse Speaks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092TXRTQT/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tkin_p1_i1
Here's a few from me - pick whichever you think is easiest to get there as my one for the vote list I started A Good Girl's Guide to Murder in paperback and I'm loving it so far - without spoilering it has interviews, text messages and log entries etc and is a bit different, i don't know how the audio would go, but i went to Goodreads and it had a Q about why are the US and UK versions different and it seems like the US book they changed the setting to a US one (rather than the original UK location) -so IDK if that would make discussion difficult? -anyway it's YA but more NA to me https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40916679-a-good-girl-s-guide-to-murder ETA: apparently my library had the US printed version set in Connecticut which is weird b/c they usually get UK versions for spelling so maybe it isn't that big of a deal?! These one's are on my TBR so IDK if they are any good https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35561669-the-memory-chamber https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59314692-the-pallbearers-club https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58724745-the-book-eaters
Lots of great ones here Justine! I picked the first one because it looks highly rated and is readily availble here too... and it sound good!
A couple of suggestions: The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman is really good The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan
I added this mystery to my to read list recently - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58537371-nightcrawling
Awesome picks everyone! We have our 10 books for our suggestion list.... plus a bunch more that I've added to my to-read list! I will get the voting thread set up in just a bit! Thanks for all the great recommendations everyone!
Voting is open here: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/voting-oct-22-to-jan-23.84501/ Come pick your top four books!
