Today is National Meatball Day! (How's that for a random fact?) I'm not a huge meatballs and spaghetti person, although I made mini meatballs once and those were awesome with spaghetti! We do have meatballs every so often, but not always beef. Our recent favorites were Salisbury Steak Meatballs, Swedish Meatballs, and Chicken Romano Meatballs. I enjoy meatballs in different flavor profiles and I find it's easier to incorporate ground chicken and such in meatball format. What about you? Do you eat meatballs? (Is it a North America thing?) What's your favorite?
I like meatball sub sandwiches, but I don't really care for meatballs in my spaghetti. I like the meatballs my aunt makes with a grape jelly/BBQ sauce that are appetizers.
I like meatballs … on subs or “sweet and sour” meatballs … one bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce + 32 oz. Grape Jelly heated together, then poured over frozen meatballs in a slow cooker and heated. My grandson made them in January for his Super Bowl party and they were a huge hit.
They're not my favorite, so we don't have them very often. Occasionally I'll have them on spaghetti if I am out somewhere, but I've probably only cooked them a time or two.
I like meatballs with my spaghetti, I just don't have them because I don't make them. But I go somewhere that has the choice of meatballs with spaghetti, I will definitely get them.
I have had Swedish meatballs this week because I have meatballs from IKEA in the freezer. That is about the only way I eat them except... around Christmas I make Cranberry meatballs. The meatballs have dried cranberries in them. The sauce has whole berry cranberry sauce in it, as well as the ketshup, vinegar, etc. I usually make a double batch and throw them in the crockpot to keep warm for parties. I like them as an appetizer.

I'm picky about meatballs. I love them but only if they are good Most restaurants meatballs don't taste good to me except a couple local places near me. My mom makes the best meatballs, she makes them like her mom used to make.
My MIL makes homemade meatballs with homemade sauce and spaghetti. My kids love it. I occasionally will make them...but I usually buy frozen meatballs or just make a meat sauce (so much easier). Lately I've just been making homemade marinara and spaghetti...cheaper!
We do Alton Brown's baked meatballs. It's one of the few foods my (very) picky 7 year old will eat. And bonus! I can add spinach in them and she looooves it. Otherwise, boo to all green things.
I just made for the first time - Swedish Meatballs. Family gave them an OK, so I will make them again. I also love making Garlic Bread Meatball sliders. YUM! I just made this - it was fantastic! French Onion Meatballs. So yum. I don't have time in the evenings to make homeade meatballs - so I used frozen, and let them thaw... then cooked them following the directions. I did roll them around in the onion seasonings too. lol! I had to make do with the time I had. I will make it again, but add more stock and more cheese. https://easyfamilyrecipes.com/french-onion-meatballs/ For some reason, I'm not a huge spaghettis and meatball person. I'd rather make a sausage meat sauce.
This is always a fun stage - no green things! I like to sneak minced mushrooms in mine, and sometimes minced carrot.
OH! This is a fabulous idea! I need to try this out. I've been making spaghetti pie lately instead of actual spaghetti and sauce. Something about the pie shape mixes the cheese in better!
I am not a fan of most meatballs. I have a weird thing with meat that I can't stand if it is grissly. However, my husband makes homemade meatballs that are just AMAZING! He never measures anything, just throws it all in a bowl with hamburger, an egg or two, bread crumbs, some spaghetti sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and all kinds of secrets spices (I have no idea what he uses! LOL!) and they are so darn good!!
