Photo blended into background
Welcome to MOC 10. Thanks so much for stopping in to check out my challenge. Over the past year, I usually host a photography based challenge since I love taking photos to capture my memories. Sometimes my LOs have little to no journaling because the photo can speak 1000 words on it's own.
This is a PHOTOGRAPHY challenge and therefore, please use a NEW photo. As memory keepers, part of our job in making a LO is taking a photo to capture an event, so YES...the answer to "does my photo have to be new" is YES...A NEW PHOTO, TAKEN IN 2022 (JAN 1-31, 2022). This is also a technique challenge, in which you will learn a fun way to blend a photo into a background paper, fade out a photo, or even blend a photo into another photo. The technique is the same and is super simple with these easy steps:
1. Open up a blank document and drag and drop your photo. Your photo does NOT need to fill the whole page. My example uses a large photo to illustrate the steps.
2. Add a Background....paper, or another photo....or even leave it blank if you want your photo to fade into a white, black, or otherwise blank space. In my example, I used a paper that looks a lot like sand.
3. Add a mask layer to the photo and using the gradient tool, drag the line on the mask to fade the photo.
4. Play around with your gradient to find the right amount of fading you desire.
AND WITH THE BACKGROUND:
***Notice how with a smoother gradient, the blending looks more realistic?****
5. Complete the LO as you would like.
