So I have totally been binge watching Hallmark Christmas movies since mid-November. My daughter has no patience with me, but I love them.
I love romance movies, and these are all sweet and innocent. The scenery is fantastic, even though there are very few plot twists I don't see coming.

She and hubby prefer suspense/thriller type stuff. I really don't love too much violence and blasphemy and swearing will get me to walk out or change the challenge.

Favourite movie of all time - has to be The Proposal. Just love Sandra Bullock and would totally love her to play me in a movie made about my life.

Hit me with your faves and your recommendations. Snacks and drinks too, if you'd like.

I tend to really love thrillers and suspense type stuff and I very seldom watch romance type movies, but one that will suck me in every time is Message in a Bottle with Kevin Costner and Robin Wright, based on the Nicholas Sparks book. Whew, the first time I watched it, it really got me and I couldn't get it off my mind for days!

    Last Christmas and The Holiday.

On Netflix I'm going to watch Holidate, A Castle For Christmas, Father Christmas is Back and Holiday in the Wild (love Rob Lowe).

With Bailey we'll watch Christmas Chronicles and Christmas Chronicles 2.

It's hard to narrow down to one Christmas movie over all others. I tend to watch the same ones year after year. Here are my top ten Christmas movies, but there are several others I watch.

I had a lot of fun creating this layout during MOC5 for a Lyric Challenge. So I got to document us watching this as part of my Document Your December, and play around with the iconic song!

As far as other movie watching, I do like suspense, science fiction, fantasy, and romance - although romance is usually at the bottom of the list.

I have to watch Ralphie every year! It's not Christmas until I watch A Christmas Story.

I don’t have a favorite Christmas movie….but I do love that there always seems to be a Lord of The Rings
    Marathon happening during the holidays!

We don’t watch that many Hallmark movies but I do love the Hallmark commercials especially the one where the older brother arrives home Christmas Eve while the family is singing Christmas carols. He joins the singing, elating his younger brother. ❤️❤️ So sweet!
My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story (You’ll shoot you’re eye out!) and my all-time favorite movie is The Last of the Mohicans.

Recently my go-to feel good movie has been Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day with Amy Adams, Frances McDormand, Ciarán Hinds, Lee Pace, Mark Strong and Shirley Henderson (Moaning Murtle from Harry Potter). I saw it a few years ago and then rewatched it when it came back on Amazon (it's off again...) and I couldn't get enough of it. It has enchanted me. I bought a used copy and sometimes I watch it every day when I need a pick me up.

Other than that I like a wide variety of things. We recently watched the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series (NOT the movie - it's horrible!) on Netflix and now we're following up with The Legend of Korra, the sequel. It's quite entertaining!

I've also been rewatching the Harry Potter series since we're taking a trip to Universal Orlando in February. I need to get all caught up on everything Hogwarts before we go!

We tend to watch Lord of the Rings during this time of year. I think it's because the original release dates always seemed to fall in December, so it's associated with Christmas holidays in my head. Also, there's extra time with the kiddos being on Christmas break and hubby being off work for at least a few days in December.

Our family almost always watching Christmas Vacation over Thanksgiving and that makes it feel like Christmas. We didn't watch this year yet though.

@IntenseMagic 0h me too. Costner is a good actor!
I can't say I have a favorite movie, especially a "Christmas" one. Dolly Parton has a few, but I don't recall the names. Overall my favorite kind is "period movies" esp. middle ages and 1800's.:thumbsups

I stand with you on that. I firmly believe what you consume ( allow to be taken in ) you become. Besides, there are countless words in our language to be used other than what is currently the most popular. To me, it is just lazy speech. :cornfused:eyeroll We used to have standards in U.S... I believe a time of change is coming.:-)

The Family Stone makes me cry every time I watch it. It's set at Christmastime. I don't think there is swearing? Maybe a small one, like damn or hell.
I enjoy Meet Me In St. Louis. I don't know why I think of it as a Christmas Movie. I discovered it after watching the Family Stone.
Love Actually is one I enjoy. It definitely has some adult scenes, and I'm pretty sure some swearing - it is British. But somehow, I don't seem to notice it when it's in a British accent. :hehe

We watch Elf, Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Frosty, Rudolph, Muppet's Christmas Carol, Mickey's Christmas, Prep and Landing, and a few others yearly too. Warning: any of the live action made in the 80's will probably contain a moment of nudity because the US was obsessed with that during the 80's.

The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are Christmas time movies to me, although I will watch them at other times too.

I first watched Meet Me In St. Louis at a local theater (the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, built in 1925) when it was reopened after repairs/upgrades in the 1980s. Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" makes this a Christmas movie for me, even though all seasons are represented. I watch this one multiple times each year - even out of season because it's not technically a Christmas movie. I imagine you think of it as a Christmas movie just like I do - that one song is perfection - and it's also about family. :)

Thanks so much everyone, @gonewiththewind Love the layouts you have created about your movies.
The first time we watched Love actually the whole porn actors thing was edited out. My daughter was shocked that we watched something like that. The rest of the movie is really good though.
