what would you try and get during Black Friday/Cyber Monday here at TLP? I'm trying to plan out what I think I could "need" for MOC this time around rather than in the middle of a layout going I need x and spending way way way too much during MOC (though thats kind of a given I think for MOC)

This is a great time to stock up for MOC. You may still find that you need something additional in January. No matter how well I plan or purchase ahead of time, I usually end up purchasing extra things during MOC.

In previous years, there have been some great bundles from our designers. Rachel Jefferies just posted some Black Friday sneak peeks in the Announcement Forum. Be on the lookout for more of those type posts as well as checking out Designer Newsletters.

I won't have any bundles, but I'll have several templates sets for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday that will be steeply discounted, including two new sets. :)

I'd go through the sale items, making note of things that appeal to you and fit your style. From there, you can start narrowing down your purchases. I hope that helps!

Oh I’m under no illusion that this will stop me from purchasing left, right & center during MOC but it might help. I was mainly thinking along the lines of good versatile products that would add to my stash in preparation. I already have a few items sitting in my cart ready after cleaning up my wish list - pretty sure the majority are templates from you Cheryl @gonewiththewind!

Purchasing ahead for MOC is a toughie, but this is going to be a great time to check out designers "stock up now" deals. Many designers will have large bundles or collections at special prices.

@sharonb I guess “stocking up” is the wrong phrase, more like picking up versatile products that could work for MOC is what I meant.

The only thing that is for sure is that you don't buy any retiring products. What I do when I have BF money to spend is that I look for more generic type things that can work for many themes. Last year I bought a pack of Kraft paper, some element packs with different colored flowers, and a stitch pack.

I get a lot of MOC use out of the huge store collabs. I'm talking about the ones that are given as FWP gifts on big scrapping days and later get put in the store. I can't remember for sure, but I think they sometimes go on sale for $5 during the big sales.

**puffs chest proudly** I'm honored to be part of your cart and stash. LOL

I would pick up a pack of basic white/black papers, maybe a solid color pack? I know there are a few good black/white from different designers: Forever Joy, Pink Reptile Designs, and Little Butterfly Wings have one for sure. Amy Wolff has great colorful solid packs as does Allison Pennington. Oh, and a pack of tiny patterns, or a kit that has tiny patterns. Because I like them and find them versatile. :-)

I would pick up a few alphas. Maybe a good black/white and one that has lots of colors in a style I like.

The Collab idea is fabulous! There's so many awesome pieces in the store collabs and they are so full!

I would grab a set of stitches (if I didn't already own so many packs! :giggle)

Other than that, I would say look at photos you have and see if there's particular themes or colors that you want to scrap. Those don't always fit the MOC challenges, but it can give you a place to start!

In that case, I probably don’t “need” anything. May just be best to “shop my stash” instead.

Nah, I find it nice to have a few new supplies to play with for MOC. It makes me excited to use some new stuff when I'm scrapping challenges. Plus, then I know it's in the store! :whistle

So true. I did that (bought stuff) close to MOC that was then retired before MOC. Hard to know what will be and what will not. :faint2 Maybe a good guide is the number of years out from release the product is...But then a designer knows not to retire a steady good seller. :happydance

Like your thinking there!

I am hoping to take part in MOC 2022 but will not be doing any shopping as I no longer have money to spend on digi things. So I will be digging through my HUGE stash to use.

Good to see you!!!!!!!!

Well, I didn't "need" anything, but I just did some shopping nevertheless: picked up two of PRD's jam-packed Treasure Chest bundles (I got the papers and the elements, and they are awesome).

And since I justified/rationalized my purchase with the idea that I was 'shopping for MOC' (thanks, @littlekiwi!)... I guess I'm going to have to participate in MOC 2022! :giggle

I love this thread ~ love being enabled.
I have a huge TLP stash, and still get stuff on sale and new releases.
I love playing with the new goodies, when the photos are old - it's all the push I need to get the mojo flowing again.
There really are some stunning ideas here, collabs, bundles etc.

in the last few sales, I've grabbed pocket cards. In my past scrapping/buying, pocket cards were always a back seat because I rarely used them. I've been in my project life app *so much* more recently, so I wanted more cards. I think basically you just want to be sure you have a wide range of colors, in each thing you normally use. Between your existing stash and great sales, I'm sure you'll be ready to go!

Here's what I ended up picking up.....I must admit I was quite restrained I think
